Accurx Total Triage System
In line with the new NHS England mandated GP contract, we are putting in place a new appointment booking triage system that will hopefully ensure easier patient access.
We hope that by putting all requests into one system called AccuRx Total Triage, we can review them daily and ensure patients are offered appointments based on clinical need and with the right person first time. All clinical requests will be triaged by our experienced clinical team.
As the new online booking form will be open core hours 08.00 - 18.30 there will no longer be the need for the 8am rush and long waits on the telephone.
The new platform will also allow patients to raise admin requests such as sick/fit notes, prescription requests and more.
For patients who do not have online access, our Reception Team will still be able to help you and complete the form with you on the telephone or in person.
How do I book an appointment?
You will need to go to our website and click on the AccuRx banner, there will also be QR codes on posters in the surgery. We understand that not everyone can do this online. Our reception team will be here to help and take you through the online form on the telephone or in person at the surgery. Please note our Reception Team will be asking you the same questions as on the questionnaire if completing on your behalf and some of these questions may be of a personal nature but will be needed for the clinician to triage effectively.
Further updates to follow…..

On 26 September Impact Initiatives, the Brighton and Hove charity that lead on the annual Ageing Well programme will be launching their 10th Ageing Well Festival. The two week festival provides opportunities for people aged 50 and over to explore new experiences and meet new people. The festival is a celebration of Brighton and Hove as a city, in which to age well and to highlight the many activities that help reduce isolation and increase well-being in the older population.

Ageing Well Festival - Brighton & Hove Festival for people aged 50+

Formerly known as the Older People’s Festival, we have returned in 2019 with a new name to better capture the spirit of Ageing Well in Brighton & Hove.

GPs prescribing Mounjaro
You might have heard in the news that weight loss injections can be prescribed by your GP from June.
Whilst this is true, the criteria to qualify will be very strict.
To avoid disappointment and wasted appointments, please check your eligibility below before booking an appointment to discuss Mounjaro:
• Your BMI must be above 40. We will check your height and weight at your appointment, so it must be accurate.
• As well as a BMI over 40, you must have a confirmed diagnosis of at least four out of the following five health conditions:
– Hypertension (high blood pressure) needing medication
– Sleep apnoea (confirmed at a sleep clinic)
– Type 2 diabetes
– Cardiovascular disease (heart disease, vascular disease or stroke)
– Hypercholesterolaemia (high cholesterol)
If you don’t meet all of these criteria, your GP will not be able to prescribe you Mounjaro for weight loss under the current guidelines.
