You'll often find me stretching & running through mobility exercises before & after treating patients at clinic, and I'm a big believer that movement is medicine (& it sure is for me - on many levels).
I always include mobility in my own exercise routines, as well as using drills as a standalone activity, but I will also often include relevant mobility exercises in the rehab programs I provide too.

Self care is not a luxury - it is a vital step in maintaining your long term health & wellbeing ๐ซถ
Investing in yourself is not just for when you're feeling 'flush' & need a treat - you deserve to prioritise and accomodate regular sessions into your budget- you don't need to explain it or feel guilty ๐ธ
Supporting your recovery is not just for athletes - anyone involved in sport or activity should be taking active steps to look after their bodies ๐คธโโ๏ธ
Allowing yourself moments of calm, having 'time-out' , and receiving a treatment 'just because' is not something to feel guilty for - prevention is better than cure. Regular sessions keep issues at bay . And you DO deserve it ๐ฅฐ
Sports therapy is not just for sporty people! - office workers, desk users, drivers, trades people, mums, dads, weekend warriors, walkers, runners, older, younger, all shapes & sizes !!!!! You all have a body that is working hard for you! Give it the support it deserves with regular sessions ๐ค
Your body deserves the best care.
Level up with a sports therapy session, sports massage or remedial relaxation session with kirsty!

For EVERYONE......
Or EVERYTHING.......
But when it clicks or works for your body, it can be a game changer with managing injury or pain & avoiding escalation of symptoms.
It is not a magic remedy, & rarely does one session solve all your body woes, but regular treatments can play a vital role in avoiding & managing dysfunction.
By encouraging normal movement patterns, releasing tension & providing education around how you can help yourself, a knowledgeable therapist can play a strong role in your road to recovery.
Here in clinic, my focus is empowering you to understand the mechanisms behind injury & pain, & offer advise on the steps or exercises you can implement in order to help yourself inbetween our hands-on sessions.

โ๏ธ Beat the heat: Train safe in this hot weather!
๐โโ๏ธSummer workouts are awesome, but hot weather can be a blessing & a curse when it comes to training - tempted out to enjoy the glorious weather? Follow these tips to stay safe:
๐ง Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drink water before, during, and after your session. Ensure you have enough for the distance you plan to do.
๐ Time it right. Train early in the morning or late evening to avoid peak heat & midday sun
๐ Dress smart. Wear light, breathable clothing and a hat to stay cool & eye wear to protect your eyes
๐๏ธ Listen to your body. Dizziness, nausea, or extreme fatigue? Stop, find shade, cool off, and rest. Stop the session & don't push yourself through.
๐ Sunscreen is your friend. Protect your skin with SPF 30+ to avoid burns.
๐คณ Have a fully charged phone & always let someone know where you are, what route you plan to take & check in once you are home safely
โ๏ธ Cool down properly. Use a cold towel or take a quick dip to lower your body temp post-workout. Don't suddenly stop excessive exercise, walk to cool down to avoid blood pooling.
๐ฐ Replenish Electrolytes post exercise - Sodium. Potassium & Magnesium are lost through sweat & are vital for normal muscle & nerve function & for fluid balance. Find a good supplement that replenishes lost stores to take post activity.
Donโt let the heat sideline youโtrain smart and stay safe! ๐ช

Treatments call on a combination of soft tissue massage, fascial work, trigger point therapy and manual therapy (joint/spinal mobilisations), as well as Kinesiology taping, Medical Acupuncture and Scar Work when clinically appropriate.
Rehabilitation exercises are also given when appropriate, to enhance recovery through exercise therapy, via a web-based physio platform, which patients are given access to.
Reflexology& Ayurvedic Face Massage treatments are available for stress management, and to combat the physical impact stress can have on the digestive and visceral organs.
