All prepared for the festive season and what other way to prepare than to explore beverages!
Alcohol is a topic of hot conversation and absolutely it can be a slippery slope into a not very happy place and yet the process of creates a very happy place, it’s not the drinking or the getting drunk that matters it’s the process!
Two months ago this journey begun and in actual truth it started a couple of years ago. The last couple of years attempting to make mead have been fails, failure like all things is temporary and now on the third attempt I have succeeded although I must say there is room for improvement this one is still packing a strong punch so I will probably brew for a month and a half next year.
Home brew alcohol for the most part is a very different experience and one that can be very rewarding and very challenging and disappointing when you open a batch to find a naughty little yeast or bacteria got in and spoils the lot, but that did not happen this time and so bring on the festivities 😘.
I have also been pickling walnuts foraged from local trees, making some kick ass unbelievable ginger bug fizzy drinks, sauerkraut and Kim chi.
