Ian Stones - Acupuncture

In the fertility world and certainly the work I'm doing around male fertility there's been a lot of talk about DNA fragmentation. So if you're curious to know more check out my latest article

Understanding s***m DNA fragmentation Over recent years we’ve seen a definite increase in awareness around male factor infertility and certainly in the last 18 months this has been massive for me following my involvement in the Himfertility campaign and FNUK support group. It’s so exciting to se...

In March 2022 (Covid permitting) me and a whole bunch of guys are heading off to trek to Everest base camp! Why? Because we need to create some change around male fertility support.

This adventure was born from the online male fertility support group me and have been running on behalf of (now the Himfertility support group).

I wanted to do something to raise money for FNUK whilst also raising awareness around the need for better male fertility support.

So much has happened over the last year or so and it’s great to see male fertility being talked about more but we’ve still got a long way to go.

This challenge has already help move the subject up the agenda and I wouldn’t be able to do this without the support of some fantastic sponsors.

I’ve needed to raise £2500 to just go on the trip and I then wanted to raise a further £3500 for the charity. To date I’ve got the £2500 for the trip and am just shy of my £3500 target. If I can hit £3500 then the next target will be £5364 recognising that that’s the altitude of Base camp.

So if you’d like to contribute to the cause please head over to my website (link in bio) and Basecampforfertility page where you’ll find more info and a donate link. Help me make a difference.

Over the coming weeks I want to give a big shout out to my sponsors who’ve helped make this happen and who’s contribution has been invaluable and will already be making a big difference to the charity. So watch this space and do check them out.

They’re all great people and have been so so supportive of what I’m doing.

If you’re a guy reading this and you’re interested…. We still have a few places left so if you wanna join us ping me a message and I’ll tell you more.

Infertility is not just a female issue - men account for around half of all infertility problems – and with male infertility rates reportedly on the rise, it’s time to face the issue head on. It’s time to talk tackle.
Us Brits are not very good at talking about what goes on between the sheets or down south. But, with infertility affecting around 1 in 6 couples in the UK, it’s time to break the silence.
There is a real lack of support for men experiencing male fertility issues, so the HIMfertility campaign was set up by comedian Rhod Gilbert, to encourage men to talk about fertility problems and signpost them and their partners to much-needed support.
Fertility Network UK hosts monthly HIMfertility Support Group meetings, co-hosted by Toby Trice, Ian Stones, and Rhod Gilbert depending on availability. If you’d like to be notified when a new meeting is scheduled, please sign up to the mailing list, found via this link https://fertilitynetworkuk.org/himfertility/

For the last few years I've been working hard to get the message out there about the support I can offer to men whilst also raising the important subject amongst the ttc community.

I remember seeing Rhod Gilbert's campaign website go live in September 2019 and thinking I'd love to be part of that but had no idea how to get involved.

Fast forward to this week and I can look back on a year of running 's online male fertility support group and now being part of the Himfertility campaign.

We've now got a dedicated himfertility page and are rebranding our support group to the himfertility brand. I feel hugely privileged to be part of this and to be helping run the Facebook group and support group.

It's just phenomenal what's happened in the male fertility support arena over the last year and I'm so incredibly proud to be part of that.

Of course having my new best mate alongside me during this last year has just been awesome. I wonder where we'll be in a years time.

Feeling incredibly grateful!!

Thank you everyone who've been part of this over the last year!

Here's a little blog I recently put together for the Reproductive health group on male fertility and Covid. It was quite incredible to find very little other information out there so I hope this is useful for other men.

Great to be partnering with RHG to help them provide more support for men with their fertility.

We look at the potential affects of COVID-19 on male fertility, the impact of COVID on s***m & what you can do to improve s***m quality if you contract it.
