Maisie Moo 2015 -2026

Our beautiful dog Maisie Moo left us yesterday…..she has not only supported my own family but many other families through both TouchBase and Allado Therapy and Education support. She survived a horrific dog attack three years ago but the brave little lady fought her way through. Vets called her a miracle dog. Tragically a neurological condition took hold from the summer 25 and escalated dramatically over this last week despite medications. She will be deeply missed by us all. RIP Maisie. Thankyou for the gift you have been for so many.

Devastating…..

Yesterday, the campaign team met with the Minister for Children and Families, Josh MacAlister MP, for a hard-won forty five minute meeting. We could not have been more disappointed or concerned for the future of adopted and kinship children.

The cuts to the ASGSF were made without warning, evidence or consultation. The Minister offered no credible explanation for this, and showed no willingness to engage with the impact of those cuts.

It was confirmed that neither the Department for Education nor the Minister are tracking the consequences for children and families, despite the Education Select Committee advising them to do exactly that.

We presented clear evidence of the harm already being felt, the need for timely specialist therapy, and the economic case for maintaining appropriate support.

Despite warnings from the sector, experts and families, decisions continue to ignore the reality on the ground. The Minister did not outline any credible plan, nor did he set out the principles guiding future decisions.

By the end of the meeting it was plain that neither the ASGSF nor the therapeutic needs of adopted and kinship children are being treated as priorities.

We could not have been more disappointed or concerned for the future of adopted and kinship children.

Dear supporters,

I am delighted to let you know our good news! I am the creator of Allado! Allado is Spanish for alongside. It is not good for any of us to be alone when life gets challenging. Trauma recovery is all about undoing aloneness. We all need fellow travellers as we function best in the context of relationship. Connection supports a sense of belonging, mental health and well being. Allado (formerly TouchBase) is a collective of specialist practitioners who have been working together for many years between 2015-2025.

As specialist practitioners we are highly experienced in foster care, adoption and kinship care. However, we also work with those who are not in these contexts too as the skills we have developed can be so supportive within a range of lived experiences. We welcome referrals for our support services from both young and old. Do get in touch and we will explore together if we are the right match for you!

I am gradually closing down TouchBase and we are becoming Allado Therapy, Allado Education & Allado Training. You can start using our new email contacts below from now though! Our new website www.allado.org.uk will be ready very shortly! Watch this space!

Allado Therapy – We will continue to offer therapeutic parenting, DDP, Theraplay, psychotherapy for children & adults, reflective space for professionals, VIG & EMDR. This can be funded privately, through the ASGSF (£3k limit) or other income streams. In person or online. Email: Therapy@allado.org.uk

Allado Education – We will continue to offer Seguridad Education – a developmental trauma assessment & intervention for schools and colleges. This can be funded privately, through the pupil premium or through the Virtual School. We will also continue to offer therapeutic consultations as follow ups whenever needed. In person or online. Allado Training – We will continue to offer our foundation, intermediate and advanced trainings to schools, colleges, virtual schools, children’s homes, social services, local authorities and independent organisations and charities. The saga continues…….we need a long term vision for those that are hurting big time. 15/16 therapy sessions per year is not enough. So many families suffering as a result of all this already….
