We had a vw in the week with a vibration when idling/driving, We suspected a failed flywheel. Upon gearbox removal we found the flywheel had burst and damaged the gearbox, luckily for the customer the damage was only cosmetic and didn’t affect the operation of the gearbox. We fitted a new clutch and flywheel and road tested the car to check drivability. One very relieved customer later he drove away happy.

We had a vw golf in this week for a few jobs, car has a mot coming up and the headlamps would fail due to sun damaged lenses allowing no beam pattern. We restored the headlamps and added a layer of protection to prolong their life.

We had a fiat 500 in recently with a coolant leak, we found the leak was from the core plug, we managed to do a repair to do a cost effective repair without having to strip the front of the engine down. We had a BMW X5 in recently with a suspension fault. Customer said when he parked the car up the suspension would drop at the rear. We diagnosed a faulty suspension airbag. We had a Vauxhall Astra in recently with a knocking noise coming from the engine bay, upon inspection we diagnosed a worn flywheel. We had a Mazda in this week, customer complained the boot wouldn’t open with the remote or switch. Upon an inspection and wiring check we found no power to the boot lock, the issue was due to broken wiring from the car into the boot lid. Repaired the wiring and tested the boot lock, all working correctly again. 👍

We had a Citroen Berlingo in this week that had failed its mot on a abs warning light. Previous garage had changed the abs sensor but it hadn’t fixed it. Customer then had an auto spark come to his house to try and fix it with no luck. We did diagnostics on the car and found the wiring was the issue, we replaced the broken wiring to the sensor, customer drove away relieved to have the car fixed

We had a bmw mpv in recently with a knocking noise from the front, upon inspection we found excessive movement from the engine on the driver side, the engine was sitting lower than normal as well. We removed the engine mount and found it had completely torn away from the casing. One genuine mount later the car drove perfectly again.

We had a bmw in last week that didn’t start. We diagnosed a faulty timing chain. Upon strip down we found the top chain had snapped. Luckily for the customer no engine damage had happened, we fitted a new chain kit and serviced the car. One very relived customer was happy to pick the car up and drive away.

We had a Land Rover in this week with badly sun damaged headlights advised on the mot. We carried out a restoration on headlights and protected for future years.

We had a bmw in this week with a ticking noise from the front, upon inspection we spotted the crank pulley oscillating when the engine was running. Once we removed the pulley it was clear it was close to breaking apart. New pulley fitted and the car ran smoothly with no more ticking noise.
