Love Yoga Hucknall with Caroline, Therapeutic Coach

Love Yoga Hucknall with Caroline, Therapeutic Coach Accessible, trauma informed, Culturally affirming, LGBTQ+ inclusive: Community & Individual yoga connecting people with new teachers and practices.

i lead weekly community practices which are trauma informed to help people release and relax

my private one to one work is based on safe space to listen and then find reconnection with themselves and find an ability to release and relax again. this is offered at my home in hucknall, through zoom and through outdoor walks. I am a registered Independent Social Worker, training in variety of modes to support therapeutic relationships with 15 experience. Yoga has been in my life for 30 years with daily practice since 2015. Completed 200hr yoga alliance Teacher Training with Bahia Yoga in 2019 and i am now committed to decolonising and supporting yoga to be led and honoured by south asian teachers alongside my commitment to anti-racist work (internal and external)

my unique gifts seem to be listening, asking questions that help people go deeper and broader and more able to make sense of whst they experience. singing and guiding people to relax and connect into the sensations of their body. i am drawn to working out in the wind and rain as well as in my cosy home.

This Friday at 7pm at the luna shala, Ilkeston (lifts available from Notti gham)

To invite space for rest, and joy alongside the grief and anger.

This is a space solely for the LGBTQ+ community: a space where we can be our whole-selves.

Yoga Nidra, Yin and restorative ways of practicing yoga will be offered which can be deeply healing and nourishing.

Using all the lovely cushions, bolsters, blankets and chairs to support our bodies.

Exploring the liminal spaces between awake and deep sleep. Rest, release and presence.

Did you know that Yoga Nidra is an invitation "to a state of consciousness that is said to be peace beyond words"?

(Tracee Stanley, Radiant Rest)

Inhale, "There is too much to hold"
Exhale, "So we hold it together"

Just back from the protest in London: Pro Palestine, End Apartide, End the Genocide

Been journalling in the coach reflecting on the 6 months between the winter and summer soltice and reflecting on the seeds i have been sowing ...

* sharing yoga teachings with student activists at the Nottingham encampment
* teaching the values and actions of yoga with 3year olds at Hucknall Day Nursery
* Sharing yoga at their home with a counsellor who was on sick leave as part of their way to reconnect and listen to themselves to work out what they need and release
* new connections and collaborations with other yoga practitoners and counsellors who are also on a decolonising journey
* studying with Susanna Barkataki in her year program, Yoga Class Curator learning from her and others who are trying to undo the harm of collonialism on themselves and their understanding and sharing of yoga

*Continuing to learn and unlearn and giving myself the grace that family life has been full on and where I am is ok.

The message today from Ursula Kelly about being honest with what work you love to do and to be myself really struck me. Going to be reflecting on that as i go into the second part of 2024.

I went to sleep at 8pm last night this morning was drawn to the Saucha practice within .

As I practiced this morning
following guiding voice.

I imagine the leaves being blown away clearing my path with each exhale.

I reflect
“I am the sea of electrons: a mess of neutrons and protons.
I am a ball of energy that is boundless.
Everything is connected ”

In my mind I see the bodies of the souls murdered by the US/Israel.

As i focua my breath I see glimpses of my path, of my purpose. I notice the critical thoughts: my lack of focus, lack of single-mindedness.

But in my mind everything feels like it so hard to grasp.

I feel the sadness,
the heaviness of a few families celebrating the return of their loved ones.

Whilst hundreds upon hundreds are devastated by the loss, by disability and by abduction and torture, every day.
Inhale: I clear my mind

Exhale: I clear my path

Truly, rooted practices of yoga anchor me, ground me & help me to process and see what medicine is for me to bring to this world.

Deeply grateful for the teachings by

At a time where we’re all being more careful about where we shop and who we buy from, please shop more local and support family/small businesses.

On the website is a list of locally owned or family owned businesses In Nottingham, as well as businesses looking at the current stock, making changes that they see fit, and working to provide alternatives to make our shopping easier!

These are all the types of businesses we should be spending at, especially if we want to stop funding certain corporations

Ahimsa Practice

Ahimsa - to take care, to nurture, of yourself and others.

Ahimsa can mean taking part in a protest for another's safety.

Ahimsa is not a thing you can "do right", it is a practice and involves listening and being connected to truth.

May I be well, may i be happy, may I be safe, May i awaken to my true nature may I be free

May all beings in all realms be safe, well and free.

Deepest appreciation for the beautiful space and equipment at ... we used so many bolsters and blankets today to reallly care for our bodies.

Next yoga practice will be in April at Windmill Community gardens

In the meantime there are many wonderful queerly wild gatherings and events ... check them out on eventbrite or join FB group Q***rly Wild CIC 🏳️‍🌈🍄🌿

Hi, I am Caroline (they/she) , I share yoga with Love Yoga Hucknall. In Hucknall and a round Nottinghamshire to individuals and groups, including the Q***rly Wild Community

What do I mean when I say the yoga us trauma informed, culturally affirming, inclusive and accessible?

You are invited to bring all aspects of yourself, your experiences and feelings and beliefs to our community

Generally everyone has access to a chair, so can practice sitting, lying, standing

Lots of options and adaptions so you can find what is right for you in that moment.

I use gender inclusive language (I don't talk about masculine and feminine energy)

We talk and share: we talk about what is happening in the world, how it affects us and other people. We talk about systemic factors and I link these with the practices I share.

At the beginning of the practices I often invite people to share how they are feeling and what they need so we can adapt the practice to the group.

People say things like...
I am soooooo tired
My body aches
I feel really anxious and it was hard to get here today
I want to feel energised

I am Peri menopausal and have an achy body, there are no head stands in the practices I share. Generally the movements are slow, easy to follow and require zero athletic ability.

Accessibility fail... The captions went off the page...🙈

🧘‍♀️🌈 Q***rly Wild CIC Yoga🌈🧘‍♀️

I am super proud to have joined up with Q***rly Wild to present Pre-Pride Yoga

Tickets are free and we are asking for a pay as you feel / pay what you can donation on the day.

Tickets available here --} https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/queerly-wild-outdoor-yoga-with-caroline-morris-tickets-650936387257

We plan to do the yoga outside but have a room available at the same location if the weather is poor.

A great way to relax into your pride weekend or a fabulous alternative for those who dont do crowds etc.

Here's a word from Caroline:

Hatha Yoga: move together, breathe together and find your way to relax; followed by time to chill and chat.

There will be both chair and mat options. I invite you to wear warm layers that feel comfortable. Please bring a blanket, a cushion or pillow, and a mat/towel to sit on.

Hatha yoga practices come from pre-partition India where it was practised in families and across many faiths and spiritual traditions. Whilst it is not a religion it is a spiritual tradition that is designed to support each of us to come back to ourselves and find some release from the impact of trauma and oppression to find balance in our mind, body and spirit. The practices which I share involve some movement, meditation, use of sound and breath to facilitate this.

The movement aspect will be slow, with options and choice so that you can honour your body and what it needs, hopefully finding your unique way to rest and restore. The practice aims to be gender inclusive and culturally affirming, trauma informed and PTSD aware. There is no need to be strong or flexible or have any knowledge or experience of yoga.

For many people yoga spaces may not have felt welcoming or accessible, at Q***ry Wild we want to learn how to curate spaces that feel expansive and as safe and accessible as possible.

Please call, message or email me to let me know what you need for this to be accessible and safe for you and/or to share experiences you have had that we can learn from.

Any questions get in touch!

Join the Q***rly Wild gang for an evening of yoga led by Caroline Morris for the LGBTQ+ community at Melbourne Park in Aspley.
