Our regular weekly bookclub is something we all look forward to. This weeks books were 'Last Orders please' and 'Anyone for Tea.

The books prompted discussions about trips down to The Local Pubs and our favourite tipples.

Anyone for Tea is always a favourite with our residents who all love a Cuppa and a biscuit or two.

This week has been a week full of mixed emotions at Buddleia House: Care Home.

Sadly we said Goodbye to our Manager Rachel. We have all enjoyed a fabulous few years together and have benefitted from the joy and humour, and the skills and knowledge you bought into our home. We will all miss you.

The Buddleia House Team would like to wish you 'Good Luck' in your new role.

We are extremely proud and happy to announce that our New Home Manager will be an internal promotion and our very own Alisha has accepted the role.

Alisha joined us last March as Deputy Manager. She joined us with a wealth of skills and knowledge and has worked alongside Rachel in the successful running of our home.

Alisha is a huge Ronaldo fan and she loves football. She loves fashion and loves a good sing along, and is really passionate about Care.

We have had an amazing year and a half and look forward to the next chapter of Buddleia House Care Home.

We would all like to wish you 'Good Luck' in your new role Alisha.

Joining Alisha will be another internal promotion with Mary Inger Newton accepting the role of Deputy Manager.

Mary has years of experience working in Care and she always approaches work with enthusiasm and loves a challenge.

Finally our new Care Leader will be another internal promotion.

Tammy Jo Foster has accepted the role. Tammy has worked with the team since last year. She is really ambitious and is currently working towards her NVQ 5.

Congratulations to Alisha and the New Buddleia House Team. You will all be brilliant.

Sam organised a fabulous book club. This week we were lucky enough to read 2 books. God Bless America and Play ground games.

As always the books prompt lots of discussions and this week we were all reminiscing about the games we played as Children.

Our Story

At Buddleia House, we pride ourselves on delivering a level of care that focuses directly on your loved one. We focus on what an individual needs in order to return a sense of independence back into their life, keeping residents at the heart. Buddleia House has been named by our residents at Hazelgrove Care Home (also based in Hucknall), inspired by the Buddleia plant’s butterfly appeal.

We’ve applied 30 years of experience coupled with best practice and innovative design to create a beautiful and engaging environment, where people can live a community life with purpose and meaning.

Buddleia House is so much more than your typical care home. Endeavouring to cater to all the senses that just can’t be understood until you walk through the doors of our home.

We’re proud of what we have created here. Our furnishings are modern, yet we haven’t lost the feeling of home. Our rooms are spaced out, without losing the feeling of community. Our gardens are safe, without losing the feeling of fun. This is evident throughout the home. Your loved one won’t be forced to do anything they don’t desire, instead they’d be encouraged to live a life filled with purpose!
