Sound Bath Myths

As more and more sound baths are popping up I'd like to clear up some of the claims!

Firstly, there is no official “qualification” or accredited status for sound practitioners in the UK. No governing body. No licence. No universal standard.

A certificate doesn’t equal skill.

What actually matters, and often gets missed, is musical experience. Rhythm, timing, tone, dynamics. Knowing how sound behaves. Without that, it can quickly become overwhelming or just noise rather than something supportive.

Sound baths are not a quick fix or miracle cure. They can support relaxation and help regulate the nervous system, but the experience is different for everyone and often unfolds over time.

And no, one instrument isn’t magically more “powerful” than another. It’s about how it’s played, not what’s played.
