Today, we had a lovely Mother’s Day celebration with the residents. The dining room was nicely decorated which helped create a warm atmosphere for everyone.

Our residents enjoyed a three-course meal, starting with cauliflower soup, followed by Hunter’s chicken with potatoes & vegetable and to finish, everyone was treated to a homemade Mother’s Day cake for dessert, which was very well received.

As requested by the residents, we also served their favourite drink ‘snowball’, which many of them really enjoyed and said brought back nice memories. It was a lovely day and everyone seemed happy to spend time together celebrating the occasion.

Happy Mother’s Day in advance to all the amazing “women” we celebrate on Sunday. Whether you are a mother, grandmother, an aunt, a friend or someone who has shown love, care and kindness to others, you are truly appreciated. Thank you for all that you do.

Today, we worked on a project from “ This is my Life at Hazelgrove “ booklet.
Today’s topic is focused on nutritional balance , appetite, and the importance of maintaining good fluid intake . The residents spent time reading and writing through the information and discussing the positives and negatives around eating habits and hydration.
It was a great time for everyone to share their thoughts of this project.

Ahead of Mother’s Day Celebration 🥳 ✨

Our residents, our staff, and our guests, the Nottingham University Medical Students, spent time together creating a special Mother’s Day display.

They wrote thoughtful and heartfelt messages on hearts to honour and remember mothers. Each message reflected love, gratitude, and appreciation for the important role that mothers play in our lives. The activity brought everyone together in a warm and meaningful way🥰🤗❤️

On world Book Day , our residents , staff and friends came together to celebrate the joy of reading and the special connection that books create .
The occasion provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone to share their love for books , discuss their favourite stories , and encourage one another to read more .
The gathering created a warm and supportive atmosphere where residents inspired by each other, highlighting how reading can bring people together , stimulate the mind and promote a lifelong appreciation for books.

Our residents asked for a special family lunch, and we were more than happy to make it happen.

The kitchen team prepared a comforting starter of warm onion bread served with soup. For the main course, everyone enjoyed a freshly homemade paella rice, a highly nutritious and versatile Mediterranean dish with the option of jollof rice. To finish, a perfectly baked rum sponge added a sweet touch to the memorable meal.

Good food, great company and quality time shared together. Exactly as they wanted it.

We are reflecting on this is my life at Hazelgrove, a book that highlights the important moments and milestones that have shaped the journey of our residents.

It shares memories from childhood, the beginning of working life, and the experiences that helped build strength, independence and resilience. It also embraces the importance of family , friendship and the multifold meaningful chapters along the way.

Moving to Hazelgove marks a special stage in my life . Here , I am a part of a caring community surrounded by companionship and support . This book celebrates a life filled with memories , growth and connection. It reminds us that every chapter is valuable.

We had a wonderful fun 🤩 day filled with laughter and joy. Residents,staff and relatives joined in by wearing masks 🎭 and wigs and some even enjoyed a dance 💃🏼. It was lovely to see everyone smiling☺️, enjoying themselves and sharing such happy 😃 moments 🌟 together 🎉🤗.
