Future Aims Therapy Out of your vulnerabilities come your strengths...✨

MNCPS Acc / MBACP Secondly consider, what would you like to achieve from therapy?

I am a qualified Psychotherapist / Counsellor offering sessions at locations across Yorkshire and online via teams. Choosing a therapist can feel like a minefield, firstly, ask yourself, what has brought you to therapy? There is no right or wrong answer, perhaps you have faced an adverse event in your life or perhaps you are finding yourself feeling low and you don't know why. For some people this is to feel happier, more content, stronger, more confident, or perhaps you just feel you need someone to talk to that will just listen. I work in an integrative way, this means that I have an array of skills and tools that I can draw upon during our sessions to help my clients to process and reflect in a way that works best for you. I put my clients at the forefront of what I do, your therapy journey is about you, thats why I offer a free consultation so we can get to know eachother, you can decide if im the therapist for you and I can get to know more details about you to help you get the most out of therapy. I am registered with the BACP and adhere to their guidelines and ethics. Therapy changes lives, change yours today.

13 of us walked and talked around Huddersfield this evening, including 2 first timers (a few dropped off before the photo)

Tonight was filled with really powerful, difficult conversations. One of our first timers that I spoke to this evening has been through hell, and is very much still there, and he isnt entirely sure where to turn or what help he needs.

But he showed up 💪

I'll remember tonight's walk for some time, I imagine. Thank you to all those who came along.

If you want to come along, see you next Monday at the statue, 6.30pm.

Have a good week everyone 💙

Self-Acceptance.

In today’s world, we are surrounded by seemingly ‘perfect’ people, programmes, and lifestyles.

If you are a user of any of the many social media platforms, then I’m sure you have been exposed to the myth of perfection. The filters that make everyone look like a supermodel, ordinary people living lavish lifestyles.

None of this is reality, but it can make people feel as though the ordinary life you live is not good enough. This could not be further from the truth, time after time, people come into my therapy room feeling bad about themselves. Feeling as though no matter how hard they try or how much energy they put in, they will never be good enough.

This is not the truth, in reality, we are all living this messy life, full of ups and downs. Life is full of challenges and triumphs, no matter who you are or where you come from, none of us are immune to it.

Perfection is a myth!

So how do we overcome the habit of comparing ourselves to others? THIS is where self-acceptance comes in, I’m getting to the point….promise!

What is it? Well according to the Virginia Department of Health Self-acceptance is defined as an ‘acceptance of all one’s attributes both positive and negative’ in other words it is unconditional acceptance.

We all have things about us that are good, and we ALL have things about us that are flaws, in the time of social media most people forego the sharing of their flaws, but these people have flaws just like everyone else AND THAT IS OKAY!

A massive step towards improving mood, mental health, motivation and achieving your goals is being able to accept yourself exactly as you are 🙌
