Boots, 22 King Street HD1 2QE, 1030-1630

Asda Pharmacy, Longhill Rd HD2 2 LQ, 1000-1600

All of these pharmacies offer the "pharmacy first" scheme, whereby they can assess you for a number of minor ailments including tonsillitis, ear infections and simple UTIs - they can prescribe antibiotics for a number of conditions if indicated. No appointment is required. Further details can be found here:

We’re currently experiencing staff shortages, with two of our reception team off sick. As a result, our phone lines and reception desk are much busier than usual.

🙏 We kindly ask for your patience and understanding during this time.

💻 If possible, please make use of our online services to submit forms, request prescriptions, and book appointments. This helps reduce queues and allows our remaining team to assist those most in need.

Weight loss injections like mounjaro and Wegovy are now approved on the NHS, however strict eligibility criteria apply and they are only available via specialist weight management services. Not from GPs.

The nhs criteria states to be eligible you must have a BMI of 40 or above, AND 4 of these weight related health conditions:

Type 2 Diabetes
High Blood Pressure
Heart Disease
Obstructive sleep apnoea
abnormal blood fats

We are looking for a motivated and committed person to join our friendly team at Kirkburton Health Centre and who is keen to progress in primary care.

Kirkburton Health Centre is an average sized practice of 8,200 registered patients.

Job Summary:

The Office Administrator will work alongside the Practice Business Manager and the Business Administrator assisting with general operational duties and supporting the non-clinical departments.

The salary is dependent on experience.

Working 30 hours per week over 5 days, 6 hours per day 9am – 3pm.

Full training in all administration duties will be provided for the successful candidate, with an opportunity to progress.

Daily Duties:-

• Assisting the Practice Business Manager and Business Administrator in all aspects of general operational duties
• Sorting incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
• Filing confidential documents
• Reception duties
• Photocopying and scanning
• Typing letters


Essential:-

• Attention to detail
• Good communication skills

Desirable

• Primary Care experience
• S1 Clinical system

We would like to give a big shout out and make a bit of a fuss of our AMAZING practice nurse Rachel. This week marks 40 years since she first qualified in nursing with her silver buckle and nurse badge. Rachel has a work ethic second to none and always has a smile on her face. She loves her job and we are so lucky to have her working as part of our team here at Kirkburton Health Centre. Congratulations on this milestone Rachel - here’s to many more years! 🥳

1️⃣ Parking Warning: Despite our staff working hard to clear the snow and ice, the parking area remains unsafe for use. We strongly advise you to avoid parking at the practice for your safety.

2️⃣ Appointments: Please only attend the practice tomorrow if it is absolutely necessary. If your appointment can wait or if you feel unsafe traveling, we encourage you to contact us to rearrange or explore alternative options, such as a phone consultation.
