We are currently recruiting to the Optimise 2 study, looking at the effects of de-prescribing blood pressure medications in older patients. You will receive further information and an invitation to participate if you meet the eligibility criteria for this study.

Our first flu and Covid vaccination clinic is tomorrow 8am-2pm.

If you have an appointment for this clinic we look forward to seeing you then. Everyone will be given their flu vaccine and also offered the Covid vaccine if eligible.

Please arrive on time for your appointment and wear clothing which allows us to easily access your arm to provide vaccination.

** This issue is now resolved**

We have been made aware that some patients are experiencing issues with the e-consult software this morning. We have spoken to the e-consult team and they are working hard to fix this asap.

In the meantime, e-consults still appear to be working if completed via a smart phone or the iPads in the surgery.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Lockwood Pharmacy, 227 Lockwood Rd HD1 3TG, 1000-1800

Boots, 22 King Street HD1 2QE, 1030-1630

Asda Pharmacy, Longhill Rd HD2 2 LQ, 1000-1600

All of these pharmacies offer the "pharmacy first" scheme, whereby they can assess you for a number of minor ailments including tonsillitis, ear infections and simple UTIs - they can prescribe antibiotics for a number of conditions if indicated. We’re currently experiencing staff shortages, with two of our reception team off sick. As a result, our phone lines and reception desk are much busier than usual.

Weight loss injections like mounjaro and Wegovy are now approved on the NHS, however strict eligibility criteria apply and they are only available via specialist weight management services. Not from GPs.

The nhs criteria states to be eligible you must have a BMI of 40 or above, AND 4 of these weight related health conditions:

Type 2 Diabetes
High Blood Pressure
Heart Disease
Obstructive sleep apnoea
abnormal blood fats
