Yesterday at the practice we had an ambulance on site to transport an acutely unwell patient to the hospital. As in any emergency, the patient is the paramedics priority and, on this occasion, the crew had to park the ambulance in such a way that blocked the car park.

While we appreciate this is inconvenient, it is not appropriate to ask our reception staff to ask the paramedic crew to move their vehicle while they are assessing a patient or verbally abuse the crew as they transport the patient from the building.

We have a zero tolerance policy to any abuse and will immediately remove any person breaching this from the practice list.

A new self-help group for Kirklees people living with Long Covid now meets every Wednesday, 11.30 - 12.30, in the Greenhead Park Community Room (next to the top cafe near the tennis courts).

This friendly volunteer-led group shares positive life hacks to manage breathing, fatigue, sleep, diet and all things connected with Long Covid.

⏰ 25 hours and 10 minutes of clinical time wasted by patients not attending their appointments.

Out of the appointments wasted, 11 hours and 30 minutes were with the nurses, with GPs,PAs or ACPs, there was 13 hours and 40 minutes.

When you find out you are pregnant, you can refer yourself for NHS pregnancy care so you start care with a midwife right away.

Once you sign up online, the maternity team will contact you to book your first appointment with a midwife.

You should do this by the 10th week of pregnancy, if possible, but it’s never too late to start. If you're over 10 weeks, refer yourself as soon as you can.

From 01/09/2025, you will be able to view future letters received into your GP held NHS record.

There may be information that you are not aware of being shared between health care professionals.

We understand that some letters or reports may raise questions or concerns. If you have any queries or require further clarification about a specific letter or report, we ask that you kindly contact the department or author who issued the letter directly. They will be best placed to provide detailed information and address any concerns you may have.

Please remember that our practice team is here to support you, and we encourage you to reach out if you need assistance in identifying the appropriate contact details for the author department.

📣Cervical Screening Result Update📣

From September, patients who receive a NEGATIVE result will be notified via an NHS app message. If the message is not read within 72 hours, a letter will be sent by post as a failsafe.

Patients who receive an ABNORMAL result, will continue to receive their notifications by post.
