Do you sometimes get in your own way? πŸ™„

Did you know that self-sabotage has a pattern?

We all have ways of being that can be less than helpful. These start life as strengths that we then overuse.

Our Positive Intelligence course helps you to recognise pattens and offers a different way of showing up. Creating new patterns that last a lifetime.

This has been called life changing by our delegates.

You can read some of our testimonials on our Google and LinkedIn pages πŸ‘‡

Happy Easter everyone. Here's to courage in this time of new beginnings.

I woke up a bit groggy this morning. Combination of a late night and the clocks moving forwards πŸ₯±.

It was tempting to think of what I'm losing. Humans can be afraid of loss but what if we flipped our thinking to what we could gain?

From scarcity to enough?

This is a core coaching tool and within moments and a little prompt, I thought of where the gain is.

I gain longer, sunlight evenings. Helpful for outdoor adventures and work 🌞. Worth a temporary loss.

Where can you flip from loss to gain?

Today I delivered a workshop on Health Inequalities as part of University of Huddersfield Health Innovation Incubator.

This is more than work to me. It’s about values, (especially fairness) and lived experience.
I shared how we now have an economic case to act to reduce inequalities ❀️.

300,000 people per year are leaving the workforce due to ill health. This is presenting a problem for productivity, recruitment and ultimately, bottom lines.

The exciting thing is the evidence is clear; we can do something about it - if we chose to πŸ’ͺ. Especially those of us that run businesses, employ staff or are in leadership roles.

I shared some tips on what businesses can do to make a difference, benefitting staff and their bottom lines. It’s not as hard as you would think.

Although it can be a tough topic, we made sure we had time for fun. Delegates made a pledge on what they are going to do to make a difference.

If you have a high proportion of staff on lower incomes, we should have a chat about how I can save you money by looking after them.

If you have staff on higher incomes, we should have a chat about how I can help you reach ESG and corporate wellbeing goals.

Massive thank you to Katie Walden Illustration for her visual notetaking of the event. As always, I am blown away by her talent and ability to capture tricky concepts in such a beautiful way.

I was called trouble this morning. After a split second of outrage (the kind that comes when someone who matters hits the nail on the head) I smiled.

It wasn't until delivering my Health Inequalities training as part University of Huddersfield Health Innovation Incubator, that the penny dropped... I CAN be trouble 🀣.

Not day to day. I am actually flexible and accommodating. Until I'm not.

What brings out my troublesome side? Fairness. As one of my top values, fairness matters.

Health Inequalities is all about fairness.

It isn't fair that where you are born in the country predicts your life expectancy or how childhood poverty affects your job chances or how poor working conditions affects your mental health.

And that is what makes me troublesome πŸ˜†. I am going to talk to anyone who will listen about the need for change and show them a different way.

The solutions to address inequality are there. What is missing is the will to act.

Businesses have a vital role to play in addressing inequalities. Whether your staff are earning minimum wage or Β£100k per year. There is a role for you to play.

Are you ready to cause some trouble, with good intent? Get in touch βœ‰οΈ.

More about today's training later.

We are all ready for training as part University of Huddersfield Health Innovation Incubator.

We will be sharing why it makes business sense to tackle inequalities and how this benefits everyone.
