Bert enjoyed a truly special and memorable day out, kindly provided by Huddersfield Giants Community Trust He attended an exciting rugby match where the Huddersfield Giants took on the York Knights — with the Giants securing a fantastic win.
Bert was treated like a VIP throughout the day, watching the match from a box and enjoying wonderful hospitality. A real highlight was his visit to the players’ lounge, where he had the chance to meet the players, share stories, and enjoy some great conversation.
He was joined by his loving wife Hazel, and fellow Huddersfield Giants supporter and care assistant, Tony. The day was filled with laughter, warmth, and unforgettable moments, creating memories that will be cherished for a long time.

Ann spent her special day surrounded by the warmth of her family and the comfort of her closest friends, creating an atmosphere that felt both comforting and deeply meaningful. Laughter filled the room as stories were shared and memories revisited, each conversation weaving together moments from the past with the joy of the present. There was something truly special about the simplicity of it all—no grand spectacle, just genuine connection and the pleasure of being together. Ann’s family and friends enjoyed the small buffet of food this ensured a relaxed environment & a small personal touch from the kitchen to support the day, allowing everyone to help themselves while continuing special event x

Ann’s Big Day Out: Shopping, Sunshine, and Smiles! ✨
Today wasn’t just any ordinary day at the home—it was Ann Shewan’s special day, and she had a VIP itinerary ready to go🛍️
Ann spent the morning browsing her favourite stores, looking for that perfect "something new." she picked out some lovely new clothes to bring home. There’s nothing like a bit of retail therapy to put a spring in your step!
After working up an appetite navigating the shops, it was time for a well-earned rest. Ann headed over to Costa, where the aroma of fresh beans was waiting. She sat back, relaxed, and enjoyed a steaming hot coffee—the perfect moment to chat, laugh.
The Perfect Finish 🍝
To round off her wonderful excursion, Ann treated herself to a delicious pasta dinner. It was the "cherry on top" of a day filled with simple pleasures and great company.
By the time they headed back, Ann was all smiles, telling everyone what a fantastic day she’d had. Seeing our residents out and about doing exactly what they love truly makes our day.

There was a wonderful buzz in the home this afternoon as we welcomed the local church for a special service. The choir’s performance was breathtaking, bringing a real sense of peace and reflection to our residents. 🎶
But the kindness didn't stop at the music! The group brought along beautiful Easter cards for everyone, adding a festive touch to the day. We finished the afternoon in the best way possible—with plenty of tea, biscuits, and wonderful conversation. It’s moments of connection like these that make our community so special. 🫖💛

Bert’s special day 🏈🍗🍟
Bert had such a special day with Huddersfield giants.

Bert played rugby at quite a high level until he was 59, but he didn’t stop there, He was a coach at Newsome Panthers and coached budding super league players like such as Leroy Cudjo and Michael Lawerence.
He refereed rugby games for many years and was the 5th official at many Giants games.
Whilst in the army, he also played rugby for the army.
Bert also had a trip out to KFC today as it was always seen as a treat - especially in the very early days of his illness when his wife would order one to be delivered to him if she was not going to be back in time to make tea. Bert was always very pleased that someone had brought him a KFC .
He’s travelled to most continents in the world, partly as being in the army and also because he liked to travel. He speaks German fluently after having been part of the Rhine army in Germany. His brother lives in Germany and his sister in Australia which both Bert and his wife visited in 2006 on thier honeymoon.. 💍💒Bert and Hazel met at netball - Bert was the team coach. He was very into all sports including playing cricket for many local teams, basketball coaches, canoeing coaches, and used to run local youth clubs. Such a busy life.
Thank you Bert for everything you have done and achieved. We hope you enjoyed your special day x

Happy Mother’s Day!! 💐🌸🌷
Aden View Care Home hosted a wonderful afternoon tea event, bringing together residents and their families for a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon. The home was filled with a warm and welcoming atmosphere as families arrived to spend quality time with their loved ones while enjoying a selection of sandwiches, refreshments, and sweet treats.

Residents had the opportunity to socialise with visiting relatives and friends, creating lots of smiles, laughter, and special moments throughout the afternoon. Events like this help strengthen the sense of community within the home and allow families to remain closely involved in our clients lives.

Tiny Hands and Big Smiles! ❤️
We had some very special visitors yesterday! The children from Ladybird Nursery stopped by to spend the afternoon with our residents, and the building was absolutely buzzing with joy.
From a high-energy game of parachute to a wonderful sing-along of classic nursery rhymes, the bridge between generations was beautiful to watch. Seeing the smiles on our residents' faces as they played alongside the little ones truly made our day.
As a token of our appreciation, our residents spent the morning crafting handmade thank-you cards. We sent our new friends home with balloons, sweets, and bubbles to say thank you for the memories! 🎈🫧

A Very Special Day for Joyce! ☕🍰
yesterday was all about the wonderful Joyce Cooper, as we celebrated her special resident day in style!
Joyce started her morning with a pamper session to get her hair done, looking absolutely radiant before heading out for a treat. We visited Coffee Boy, where she enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee and a slice of her favorite cake.
To make the afternoon even more perfect, Joyce spent time listening to her favorite music, reminiscing and soaking up the atmosphere. It was a joy to see her smiling and enjoying every minute of her day! 🎶✨
At our home, we love making sure our residents get to do exactly what makes them happy. Happy Special Day, Joyce!
