Paxman Scalp Cooling

Paxman Scalp Cooling The global leader in scalp cooling. We help cancer patients worldwide to retain their hair during chemotherapy

When Sue Paxman lost her hair while receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer, her family shared her distress. Sue's husband, Glenn Paxman founded Paxman on the back of this experience and to this day we remain a close family business. Knowing first-hand the effects that both cancer and its treatment can have on patients, friends and families, our business is much more than just a job. We aim to make a difference to people’s lives by raising awareness about scalp cooling and establishing it as a common practice for all patients undergoing treatment. As the leading global manufacturer and supplier of scalp cooling equipment, we work in partnership with medical professionals, research centres, cancer support groups, charities and patients to continually improve our technology. Investing in scientific testing and development has allowed us to attain outstanding technical precision and the highest levels of clinical efficacy. We strive to gain further knowledge and understanding of hair loss prevention for cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. We are committed to giving patients a degree of control during chemotherapy treatment. We have made it our responsibility to offer advice, support and access to scalp cooling for cancer patients no matter where they are based in the world. Having been through the same journey as many patients and their families, we are dedicated to empowering people by giving them the choice to keep their hair.

Back to school season! As part of a community service project students at a high school in Virginia took recycling our old cap kit bags to the next level turning them into art projects. The painted bags were filled with supplies and donated to a range of organisations in the local community. A wonderful project made possible because of our big-hearted Clinical Product Specialist, Leah Edison, and her ambition to support those in need. ❤️

"Because when you’re fighting for your life, you shouldn’t have to fight for your reflection too." A powerful piece "Supporting the Whole Patient: The Psychological Value of Scalp Cooling in Breast Cancer Treatment" was recently published in Med City, written by Kia Lee. Kia reflects on the impact that scalp cooling and keeping her hair during her cancer treatment had on her and the importance of fair access so that the whole patient can be treated. Read the full piece here: https://medcitynews.com/2025/08/supporting-the-whole-patient-the-psychological-value-of-scalp-cooling-in-breast-cancer-treatment/

If we truly believe in treating the whole patient, we must recognize that survival is not the only measure of success. Preserving a woman’s sense of self, her dignity, her identity, her autonomy is just as essential.

Jennie Marx, from Chicago, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019. Jennie’s scalp cooling journey is one of support. Her nurse at Kellogg Cancer Center played a big, supportive role in helping her scalp cool, which came full circle when she joined the Paxman buddy program to give others that same support. She eventually continued to support patients professionally by joining Paxman as a Patient Liaison. Find out more about Jennie's experience at https://coldcap.com/case-study/jennie-marx/

CPT I codes for scalp cooling are just months away. If you're part of a US facility that provides the treatment, it’s time to start making the Simple Switch to the Paxman Insurance-Based Billing Model (IBBM).

Our newly launched IBBM Website is intended to simplify the switch process. It gives straightforward information on why switching to IBBM is so important and how it helps your center as well as your patients. With resources, downloads, and guides, as well as the full support of our team, you can begin the journey to enhancing your patient-centric cancer care.
