We absolutely love our visits from the children & staff from Nurtured at Skelmanthorpe nursery but today was even more special as these adorable boys and girls brought our ladies some beautiful flowers💐. Recently we created home made poppy wreathes to display around our homes as on the 11th hour, of the the 11th day of the 11th month we sat together to watch the remembrance service and 2 minutes silence as we pay our respects to all those who gave so much.❤️🇬🇧

Yesterday evening our ladies & gents enjoyed a lovely evening at the Festival Of Remembrance concert at Huddersfield Town Hall paying our respects and remembering all those who served for our country, our families, friends and relatives.🪖🌺 The military band were outstanding and the guest soloists were absolutely amazing.📯🥁 We even managed to squeeze in icecream at the interval. Neil proudly wore is National service medal this evening & said he'd had a wonderful time.🏅

They gave up their tomorrow so we could have our today.🌺🇬🇧

Trick or treat!!! 🎃🍬

We had a fabulous time on Halloween night with an evening full of little (and not so little) visitors from our fabulous community all dressed up. You all looked fantastic!! The smiles on the faces of our ladies & gents says it all! Thank you to each and every one of you who came along you really made our day!! We look forward to seeing you all again very soon! 💀🧙🏻‍♀️🧛‍♂️

Fantasticly frightening food was next on the Halloween party agenda for us this week. After a get together to decide on our Halloween cake for our party. Our ladies & gents took a vote and we decided our cake would be a cauldron to fit our witches theme. We baked our cake & cupcakes and decorated them with some fondant & some spooky sweets. 👁

We finished the buffet with some oreo cookie spiders,🕷 white chocolate covered strawberry ghosts👻 & wobbly brain jelly. Everything looks fantastic well done everyone!

The party was in full swing on Thursday with a fabulous kareoke & spooktacular buffet!! 🎤🎶

As part of day recently our lovely ladies and gents spent the day enjoying coffee and cakes & raising awareness about the importance of checking yourself and getting checked and not being embarassed to check yourself out for signs of breast cancer. Sandra, Betty & Liz had different ideas for our decorative balloons that afternoon. Laughing Sandra said she might like a nice man in uniform to check hers for her. Liz laughed and replied "he doesn't even need the uniform to check mine." Never a dull moment here at Longroyds & Pilling House!! 🩷🎗
