Out & about with Mary & Alan in the sunshine this week.

Mary wanted to have a look around the garden centre. She was eyeing up the garden furniture & spotted a fabulous egg chair. Laughing she said "if I don't see anything else I might treat myself to one if my legs will reach." Thank you Pennine Garden Centre for the delicious coffee & chocolate orange cake. 🫖🍰

Alan just wanted to be out in the sunshine so we enjoyed a lovely sunny walk around our beautiful gardens and then back home for a cup of tea and a bun! 🧁

What a treat we had recently. We were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Alan as he came along to look after his bee hives.🐝🍯

Alan brought over a small piece of honeycomb for us to look at. Eddie even managed to get a little sample of the runny honey from the honeycomb which he said was lovely.🍯 Thanks for today's lesson Alan, Sandra said it's all so interesting. We're looking forward to our next session! 🤩

Keeping ourselves fit and mixing it up this week with some new armchair exercise & games including stack the cups. Throwing a balloon in the air & stacking cups before the balloon comes back down, hoopla & armchair football.⚽️🎈

Armchair football went down a storm. Our man of the match, voted by all the other ladies and gents was awarded to Brian who scored a fabulous hatrick! Well done Brian!🏅

Some of our ladies and gents suggested we have a go at an art class. Liz said she used to do a lot of painting & pottery when she was younger. Come on Liz, show us how it's done! ✏️🐻

Laughing Sandra asked "don't they normally have models for this kind of class?" 🤣 haha maybe next time Sandra! 😉

Neil said he hadn't done anything like this for a very long time but he would give it his best!

While chatting with some of our ladies recently Judith said she would love to have her nails done. She chose a lovely neutral colour to go with everythjng with a little flower for a hint of colour. 🌼

This quickly became a popular activity with others so Activities coordinator jo set up the Longroyds & Pilling house salon including lots of beautiful coloursto choose from, tea & coffee & relaxing music in the background.💅

Molly said she fancied treating herself to having her nails done. She told Jo she likes having her hair done regularly and wanted to treat herself to sone nice nails too. "You only live once" she told Jo.😃

We had another fabulous afternoon at Denby Dale Club. this week. Singing and dancing along to some fantastic live vocals and we even managed a couple of wins on the raffle.

Colin wanted to gift his prize of some caramel chocolates to his friend Cath who he met through going along to the club every fortnight. What a lovely, kind gesture Colin.🥰

Brenda just managed a sneaky sip of her husband, Ivan's pint while he wasn't looking. Cheers Brenda🍺

"It's a nice place here, the view is great you can see for miles" said Ian full of smiles as he spent the morning out with Activities coordinator Jo at Pennine Garden Centre where he enjoyd a nice cup of tea and some delicious butterscotch cake.🫖🍰

Ian treated himself to some treacle biscuits on the way out he said he wanted to hand them out to everyone after lunch. Thank you Ian I'm sure they'll be lovely with a cuppa later! 🥰

A special presentation took place at a Huddersfield care home event to honour residents who served in the armed forces

What a fantastic afternoon we had making music with Rose & Stuart recently as part of .

Rose & Stuart taught us to play different rhythms on our Djembe drums using words with a different number of syllables such as apple & plum. We had a fabulous time making rhythms and playing along to some of our favourite popular sing along songs. 🪘🎶

Judith said she had never done anything like this before. She had a wonderful time and felt really happy. Like a big weight was lifted from her. She couldn't stop smiling! 😁

Music means so much to our ladies & gents, we had such a great time. We would like to say a huge thank you to Rose & Stuart for coming along and spending time with us it was fantastic! 🥰

We had a lovely afternoon creating our own beautiful spring time flower arrangements recently with Anne-marie from Spring Wood Flowers. 💐

Judith said she was teally proud of herself, her arrangement looks so beautiful.🪻🌱

Molly told us she always loved having fresh flowers when ahe lived at home, they brighten up the room and she loves roses.🌹

Thank you Anne-marie for giving up your time to spend with us we had a fabulous time. Also Betty would like to say thank you again for her beautiful arrangement which she won over Easter. She has given it pride of place next to her in the lounge.🥰
