Meet our daughter Kelly- mummy to our gorgeous Noah and the most amazing play therapist.

Having worked in America and Great Ormond Street Hospital and Charity, she now supports children in a way that meets their needs and helps them to grow with a strong sense of self belief and resilience.

My name is Kelly and I am a play and creative arts therapist. I am based at The Zone in Huddersfield but also work in a large number of schools across Kirklees, Barnsley and Calderdale. With a growing waiting list for both!

Whether your child comes for sessions at The Zone or has sessions in school with me, I offer a safe space for children and young people to come every week and have a place to talk and play out their thoughts, feelings, struggles and experiences. I use a wide range of play resources and arts & crafts in my sessions to support them. I create a place where a child can be who they are, who they want to be and without judgement.

Busy morning at Purple Dog HQ today.
The manikins are lined up, the AEDs are ready, and the students have arrived with equal parts excitement and mild panic.

• And the very glamorous art of keeping calm when chaos walks in.

It’s practical, it’s hands-on, and yes… someone will definitely try to give the dummy a name.

A Thought For Today…

There are more and more first aid training companies appearing across Kirklees now. Some people look at that and go
“Competition… threat… brace yourself.”

But here’s the truth.
They’re not a threat.
Not unless you decide to jump into a ring that doesn’t need a fight.

There are still thousands of people who don’t know CPR, who wouldn’t know what to do with a choking child, or who would panic instead of act.
So why fight each other when the real priority is building confident responders everywhere?

If someone delivers first aid training with passion, accuracy and heart, then they’re not my rival.
They’re part of the same mission.

Trust also plays a big part in this world.
Trust is earned over time.
Trust can be broken quickly.
And trust doesn’t come from fancy logos or cheap deals, it comes from being reliable, consistent and doing what you say you’ll do.

Purple Dog has been delivering first aid for nearly 20 years.
We’ve grown because people know us, trust us and like how we work.
That matters.

If a business chooses another trainer, it doesn’t weaken us.
It means someone somewhere now knows how to save a life.

That’s the win.

So I’m staying in the audience, not the ring. Cheering on every trainer who does it right, keeps learning, and puts the learner first.
