Well done Al on a great effort at the Friends of the Lakes walling competition

First competition for me and the first time using other stone than Yorkshire sandstone! A challenge to say the least.
It's fair to say the dry Stone Walling community is something special, full of advice and encouragement.
Finished the wall in the allotted time which was a personal goal, got a middle placement and some points for the DWSA Grand Prix.
I learned a lot and will be chasing the top spots in the future.

Good little day out in the Peugeot: really struggled to find anyone to balance the GTI-6’s centerless wheels, after a chance conversion it turns out can do the job.
Off i went for four new rainsport 5’s and a grand opportunity to visit old friend in mid Wales for a light lunch some Osprey spotting and some very relaxed walling. Superb drive back on the best B m-roads north Wales has to offer. Just shy of 400 miles covered today and i loved every minute… ace!

CapitalMansQuest: had a good week or so working alongside and along with
on the garden at the chelsea flower show. and his family completed the stonework with their beautiful willow work.
It was really nice working in a collaborative environment with people who genuinely care about what they are doing.
The thoughtful design by was awarded a gold medal and best in show. Wonderful stuff!

Roger’s deep knowledge and passion of craft is infectious.

RetainMansQuest: Been on with patching up this disaster of a retaining wall the next village over.
A lot of interesting stuff going on here. Wall built on top of an existing wall, then backfilled with bits of bone, crockery and ya grandma’s ol’ boots.
I’ll be back here at some point for sure…. Grand!
