Just wanted to pop on to let you know that I will be taking some time off for an operation from 4/06 for up to a month. It depends on recovery but I will try and keep everyone up to date.

I’ll be in clinic during May so please make sure you secure your appointment if you feel you need one.

On another note I’ve just completed a month living off wild food only as part of the researching gut health & how our microbiomes & general health react to only consuming wild foraged plants, fungi, wild fish & meat.

After a few days of detoxing in the first week I’m happy to report that it’s going well. Experiencing lots of positive changes & connecting to nature on an even deeper level.

Thank you to everyone for your support, the more we know about gut health & the effects of a modern day diet the better.

It’s getting so close now!!!!

Why have I chosen to take part in the Wildbiome project 2?

I’m deeply interested in the connection between wild food, gut health, and the natural environment. Mo Wilde, founder, lived solely off wild foods for 12 months & a group of 24 foraging friends from the Association of foragers took part last year. They lived off wild food for a period of 1-3 months - the results were incredible.

I’m an advocate of gut health & the impact on our physical & emotional health. Given I’ve been foraging & consuming some wild food supplementing my ā€œnormal dietā€ I’m keen to explore more.

I’m excited & nervous to take this to the next level. It’s also timely, given how disconnected many of us have become from natural, unprocessed foods. We are surrounded with toxic, addictive foods it’s no wonder our bodies are struggling.

Bradford University is also involved through its research department & we will be tested throughout. I’m curious to see what real data shows about how a diet rich in wild foods can affect the microbiome, and ultimately, overall health.

This project matters because our diets are more processed than ever and our awareness of the importance of gut health is increasing.

Exploring how reconnecting with wild foods might restore microbial diversity feels like a practical and meaningful step toward better health—not just individually, but collectively.

🌿 Fundraising for a Wild Challenge! 🌿

I’ve launched a fundraiser for an incredible journey—12 weeks of living entirely off wild foods starting in April this year.

You read that right!!!! I’ve been foraging & preserving all I can in preparation but it’s starting soon, very soon 😬

This challenge is about connecting with nature (even more than I do), self-sufficiency, assessing the impact of living off wild foods on health and pushing the limits of what’s possible for me.

It is part of a Wildbiome Project organised by forager, herbalist & educator Mo Wilde & Bradford University. I’ll be one of about 100 people taking part from all over the UK & beyond.

I need your support to make this happen even if you could chip in the price of a cuppa !! Not that I’ll be able to drink that - I’ll be on dandelion root coffee or a wild blend of flowers & herbs 🌸😘

Funds will go toward essential gear, prserving supplies, essential gut, bloods & hormonal testing and documenting the experience to share valuable knowledge.
