Herbal medicine is gentle medicine, it works slowly to effect change within us, supporting the body's natural processes, gradually helping our bodies and minds to heal. People with a wide range of conditions visit my clinics, including digestive and circulatory problems, skin complaints, sleep, stress and emotional issues, male and female hormonal imbalances (including menopausal symptoms), musculo-skeletal pain, conditions affecting the urinary tract, respiratory conditions, repeated infections, headaches and many other complaints. I treat the whole person, not just the symptoms, with herbal medicine, in addition to diet and life-style advice, tailor-made for each individual’s unique needs. I prescribe herbal medicine following an in-depth consultation. A prescription may alter over time as needs change. I am trained to work safely alongside orthodox medicines and will only prescribe herbs that will not have an adverse interaction with treatment you are receiving from your Doctor. I welcome opportunities to raise public awareness about herbal medicine, regularly giving talks to local groups and leading herb walks through our beautiful countryside in Spring and Summer. This page is another way of sharing my passion for herbs. I trained at the School of Herbal Medicine in Sussex, qualifying in 2002 with a BSc Honours degree in Phytotherapy (Herbal Medicine). I practice in Huddersfield, Marsden and Barnsley. I am a member of both The National Institute of Medical Herbalists and The College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy. During 2013, I will become a licensed Medical Herbalist with the Health Professions Council.
