Feeling grateful ❤️

Today marks exactly 1 year since I left the NHS.

What a year it’s been!

I am so full of gratitude to those women and families who chose me to support them. I will never take that for granted. Thankyou for letting me hold your hand through the most precious time in your life ❤️

Thankyou to every colleague I have worked with in this last year. What an unexpected and wonderful network of like minded business owners I have met and worked with. Some feature on my care packages now. Trust is everything. I trust them and they trust me. Thankyou 🙏

I do have to mention Bailey. My midwife colleague and friend. Thankyou for all your support as I transitioned to this lovely way of working.

Thankyou to my family and friends, and most of all . Your encouragement and support means the world.

And to Shelley. My coach. My friend. You saw something in me and helped me to realise it was there. You have guided me to a free and happier life, and continue to do so. Thankyou so much ❤️

Today, thousands of runners took part in the London Marathon 🏃🏻‍♀️

Hours of effort, months of preparation!

Did you know that when pregnant, you use the equivalent energy of running 2.1 marathons per month!

Add in another 1-2 back to back marathons for labour and you’ve something that deserves true attention and preparation for!

Yet, no-one is discussing this with you.

If you know about it, you’re left to figure it out alone.

Not with me! Support with your health comes as standard with me.

I’m not the diet police! But if you want to make small, subtle changes in your pregnancy that make a HUGE impact, I’m your gal!

That’s my logo up on the screen. Still a bit pinchy-eyed about it if I’m honest. 🥹

Today I attended the open day for the Health Business Innovation Centre in Huddersfield, a brand new, UK Government-funded hub for health and wellness innovation as part of the Huddersfield Health Innovation Incubator.

Being in that room, with that name badge, seeing Your Bespoke Midwife on that wall alongside so many brilliant health businesses… it mattered 🙏

Because the work I do isn’t just about supporting women through pregnancy. It’s about changing what the future health of our children looks like, and that starts before birth.

Standard antenatal care doesn’t have time to tell you how powerful your choices in pregnancy are.

My mission is to fill that gap ❤️

This Mother’s Day

Over the years I’ve had the privilege of standing beside so many women as they became mothers.

I’ve witnessed the strength, vulnerability, courage and love that fills a room when a baby is born.

Every time a woman trusts me to walk that journey with her, I feel deeply honoured.

Today I’m thinking of all the mums I’ve supported who placed their trust in me during one of the most powerful moments of their lives.

I’m also holding space for the mothers whose babies couldn’t stay in this world. Your love made you a mother, and you will always be one ❤️

And to the women whose babies are yet to be born, even before your baby is in your arms, you are already a mum.

Today is for all of you. 💗
