This Mother’s Day

Over the years I’ve had the privilege of standing beside so many women as they became mothers.

I’ve witnessed the strength, vulnerability, courage and love that fills a room when a baby is born.

Every time a woman trusts me to walk that journey with her, I feel deeply honoured.

Today I’m thinking of all the mums I’ve supported who placed their trust in me during one of the most powerful moments of their lives.

I’m also holding space for the mothers whose babies couldn’t stay in this world. Your love made you a mother, and you will always be one ❤️

And to the women whose babies are yet to be born, even before your baby is in your arms, you are already a mum.

Today is for all of you. 💗

🤰In this truly remarkable time in your life, there is so much to learn. So many decisions and sometimes worries.

You deserve to know the person who is supporting you through. Not many, not repeating yourself to new faces, not feeling rushed.

I am in my element here! Doing the Midwifery that always called me 🥰

I come to you, no waiting in clinics. Make me a brew (I love Yorkshire Tea 😉) and I’m all ears 🥰

Today it isn’t just about romantic love for me ❤️

It’s about the tiny heartbeats I listen to,
and the steady beat of mum’s heart,
the nervous hands I hold,
the strength and the trust

The families I support are truly at the heart of everything I do

Being invited into such an intimate, life-changing chapter is never something I take for granted.

Thank you for letting me be part of your story.

Your Bespoke Midwife creates a service ‘bespoke’ to you ❤️

Today I had coffee with .tanya before a joint antenatal visit.

Tanya and myself were previous team mates in the NHS. When I heard that Tanya was also independent and providing a much needed service to pregnant women, I just knew she’d be right for my clients 🥰

Tanya is a birth trauma counsellor as well as a very compassionate midwife. She has worked with my clients on a 1:1 basis with amazing outcomes ❤️

Today I saw Tanya in action. In just 1 unplanned session, Tanya was able to help one of my clients make sense of her thoughts and understand why they appear.

Birth trauma is such an important and sad reality in recent times. It requires expert knowledge and counselling.
