Free scrapbook workshops with Vic Cruz starting this month at the Greenwood Centre in Ravensthorpe. Absolutely no experience needed and we provide all the materials and equipment you'll need.

👥 Who can attend? Adults aged 18 or over who live in the Kirklees area.
🪙 How much does it cost? All sessions are free.

Please note: These sessions are for adults only and can't accommodate children. Due to funding restrictions the sessions are only open to people whose local council is Kirklees Council.

We have roles available at four of our weekly creative groups:
🎨 Visual Arts, Tuesdays 2:00pm - 4:00pm in Dewsbury
🖼️ Visual Arts, Tuesdays 10:30am - 12:30pm in Huddersfield
🐦 Singing, Thursdays 10:30am - 12:30pm in Huddersfield
🪘 Music, Thursdays 2:00pm - 4:00pm in Huddersfield

Our Calico Dress sessions in Dewsbury finished this week. We're so proud of our group who have been working hard over the past few weeks to create their patches for the dress, which will be completed and exhibited in 2027 as part of the Woven in Kirklees Festival.

We’ve been proud to take part in the Yorkshire Calico Dress, a community embroidery project inspired by the Red Dress and led by artist Kirstie Macleod as part of the international Calico Garment Initiative.

Each participant has designed and created their own fabric patch to tell a personal story, supported by designer Alison Morrish and community artist Kim Searle. These patches will join others from across Kirklees to form the final dress, which will be exhibited across Yorkshire.

Here’s a sneak peek of what our wonderful participants from the Dewsbury group have been up to — more coming soon.
