Here’s what I’d do if I wanted to overcome chronic pain. 1. Understand how pain works. It might surprise you and this understanding can actually turn down the pain dial. 2. Become a pro at learning how to relax your body. Pain makes us tense up, a lot. This gives more pain, more tension, and repeat. You can break the cycle. 3. Figure out some safe movement you can do today, the ‘Goldilocks’ amount. Keep doing that, watch yourself get stronger. 4. Give yourself a break, beating yourself up only makes pain worse. 5. But also hold yourself accountable; you can recover or improve.
