Our Cardiology Angiography team have achieved something remarkable. They’ve transformed their Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) waiting list from six months to six weeks.

This success is thanks to the commitment of our multidisciplinary team, including Cardiologists, Radiographers, Physiologists, Nurses, weekend support teams and out admin and scheduling team.

Our Paediatric and End of Life Care teams have joined forces to provide new training that helps our staff support children and young people when a significant adult in their lives is receiving end-of-life care.

The first training event included inspiring sessions from Child Bereavement UK, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and the Ruth Strauss Foundation, with great feedback from staff who attended:

“Refreshing to see education about children and young people aimed at adult services.”

Thank you to our organisers Gillian Sykes, Liz Martel, Joanne Ineson and Fiona Stuttard for creating such an important learning opportunity.

Celebrating three years of our Smokefree Pregnancy Service at CHFT.

Led by Specialist Health Advisers Lucy Pendlebury and Naomi Hegney, the team has, among other achievements helped halve the number of mums smoking at the time of birth. Improving health outcomes for both mothers and babies.
