Hi all,

Just a reminder of the Resilience Pod in the Dewsbury hub, 3 Wellington Street WF13 1LY tomorrow morning,

The topic of the session will be " Life Wheel"

The Life Wheel is a powerful reminder that your life is made up of many parts—relationships, health, purpose, growth, and more. When things are in balance, that’s when you feel your best. But if one area’s off, it can throw everything out of rhythm. The good news? Once you know where the struggle is, you can take steps to change it—and you don’t have to do it alone.

Here’s the truth: drugs and alcohol hold you back. They cloud your mind, block your growth, and keep you stuck in survival mode. You weren’t made to live at 50%. You were made for more—so much more.

We believe everyone has the power to step into their full potential—to live fully, freely, and without the crutch of substances. A life where you’re not just getting by, but thriving. Empowered. Energized. Alive.

And we’re here to walk with you every step of the way. Because we know change is possible. Growth is real. And you are absolutely capable of becoming the person you were always meant to be.
So—are you ready? Let’s take that step forward. Together.

Doors open at 10.00am, so hopefully I ill see a few of you there.

*Please note*

There will be no Saturday social tomorrow afternoon, due to the Easter party being held in Union Bank, starting at 12.00pm, I hope to see a few of you guys there

Hi all

Just a reminder of the resilience pod tomorrow at the Dewsbury hub 10.30-12.00pm

The topic of tomorrow’s session will be The "3 Questions" this SMART tool is designed to help individuals reflect on their day, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies for change.

The Questions:
What did I do to strengthen my recovery today?

What problem behaviors did I exhibit today?

What could I improve from today?
Benefits:

By answering these questions, individuals can gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and identify areas where they can make positive changes

Doors open at 10.00am so hopefully I’ll see a few of you there šŸ‘

In light of the recent developments regarding the changes to services across Kirklees we would like to clarify our position as Kirklees in Recovery and, hopefully, reassure our community members of our continuing commitment to you.

Kirklees in Recovery is a non- profit group run voluntarily by people in recovery for peers in recovery and is independent from TBRP and CGL. As such, we fully intend to continue to support our members with non-service lead recovery activities and events even after TBRP ceases to provide services to Kirklees.

We hope you will continue to support and take part in these events and activities as we would not be a community organisation without our fantastic community members!

If you have questions for The Basement Recovery Project, please contact [admin@thebasementproject.org.uk](mailto:admin@thebasementproject.org.uk)

If you have any queries for CGL, please contact Kirklees.Feedback@cgl.org.uk

Services Announcement

As some of you may already know, services in Kirklees are going to change. Here is what we know:

On 9th November 2021 Tenders were invited by Kirklees Council for the provision of ā€œKirklees Integrated Substance Misuse Serviceā€. The description was: ā€œThe Council is looking to procure a service which encompasses the full range of substance misuse interventions including, but not limited to, early intervention approaches, harm reduction, structured care and recovery supports. The service will be part of a wider system that the Council wants to refocus to a whole system prevention and recovery model. It is the Councils preference that this service will be delivered by a formal partnership of providers, which includes Kirklees third sector organisations, who have the skills, experience and relationships (to be developed as necessary) required to deliver the specified outcomes. It is further anticipated that during the life of the contract the provider(s), in partnership with the commissioner, will develop an consortia model with key partners who are involved in the delivery of relevant pathways that contribute to the achievement of the specified outcomes. The anticipated commencement date for the Contract is 1st October 2022 and the anticipated expiry date for the Contract is 30th September 2027 with the option to extend for up to a further sixty (60) monthsā€.
The closing date for tender submissions was 10th January 2022.

The value of the contract is £27,500,000.

The contract has been awarded. It does not include The Basement Recovery Project and at this stage, Kirklees in Recovery has not been contacted in any regard to the new contract. We will continue to run our community recovery groups, activities, page, group and website until October, but we are unsure what (if anything) will happen after this date.

Congratulations Damian! Thanks for sharing.

The Basement Recovery Project was suggested to me by a family friend. This person had seen others get well at the Basement so I decided to give it a go...
