S2R Create Space We have developed a reputation for diverse, inventive responses to the changing outlook of mental health service delivery.

We are an independent mental health and wellbeing charity, offering a wide range of FREE opportunities for people to get creative, learn new skills, improve their wellbeing and discover the great outdoors. S2R Create Space is a local mental health and well-being charity providing a range of creative, outdoors and well-being sessions and events for the people in Kirklees for over twenty years. S2R Create Space recognizes personal individuality, choice and abilities, by introducing different engaging elements and themes of involvement, individuals are in control of their participation, and can plan and set their own goals and outcomes.

Norman Park Outdoor Volunteers 🌱

Friends of Norman Park

Join us on Tuesday 3rd March from 11am-1pm at Norman Park, Birkby, Huddersfield HD2 2UD and help us to look after Norman Park for the benefit of nature and also for the whole community to enjoy.

We will be doing different practical tasks like gardening, litter-picking, footpath clearing, making habitat homes for wildlife and more!

Meet us by the green container near the stream. Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for gardening. Tools and refreshments will be provided.

Support S2R with your blue token at Tesco🔵

We're pleased to share that we have been nominated for the Tesco Stronger Starts fund at the Tesco Superstore, Viaduct Street, Huddersfield HD1 1RW.

If you're shopping there, you'll receive a blue token at the checkout. Please place your token in the S2R voting box as you leave to help us secure vital funding to continue supporting young people in our community.

We promote positive mental health by giving young people the chance to develop creative skills, to promote self-care and help them look after their mental health, in a safe space.

Voting runs until 31st March 2026.

International Women's Day Event 🌸

We are pleased to be part of the upcoming International Women's Day celebration hosted by WomenCentre in collaboration with the Working Together Better Partnership on Wednesday 4th March from 10am-2pm at Dewsbury WomenCentre, Empire House, First Floor, Wakefield Old Road WF12 8DJ.

This day has been created by women, for women and offers a welcoming space to connect, reflect, create and celebrate together. The morning will begin with music and singing from Emily and the women from the Huddersfield WomenCentre music group. There will also be a short presentation from Gina at Arttastic, showcasing creative work produced by women accessing services in Dewsbury.

From 12pm, attendees will be able to join a number of empowering workshops. We will be delivering an Aromatherapy Workshop as part of the programme. Other sessions include a Visual Art Workshop with hoot creative arts, a Mindfulness Activity with Clear Kirklees and Pebble Painting with Carers Count. Registration to book onto any of these workshops will be open on the day from 10-11am.

Staff from Waythrough Kirklees and Cloverleaf Advocacy will be available throughout the day to provide support and information around employment and advocacy.

In respect of Ramadan, light refreshments will be available during the day and attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch if they wish.

We are looking forward to supporting this celebration and hope to see many of you there!

Our fabulous Cemetery Road Community Allotment group is back this Wednesday (25th February) after a break for the winter. Join us every Wednesday from 11am-2pm at Cemetery Road Allotments, Osborne Road, Birkby HD1 5HB to help grow a variety of soft and hard fruit, salads, herbs and lots of vegetables which you can harvest and take home with you.

Coping Skills Taster Workshop 💭

Join us on Friday 27th February from 10.30-11.30am at Mirfield Salvation Army, 106 Huddersfield Road, Mirfield WF14 8AF for this brilliant session delivered by Karl Jackson-Lander from Waythrough Kirklees.

This workshop will examine all the positive coping methods that you can use in your daily life. Whether it's depression, anxiety, stress or just the normal difficulties we all face, this one-hour session will give you the introductory tools you need to cope with life.

Our wonderful Peace Pit Growing Group is back on Monday 23rd February after a break for the winter. Join us every Monday from 10am-2pm at the Kirklees Council Polytunnels, Old Fieldhouse Lane, Deighton HD1 1AG and help us to grow plants and flowers for local parks, volunteer groups and green spaces.
