Dream Time Huddersfield, Baby Massage

Dream Time Huddersfield, Baby Massage Baby classes: baby massage, sing, nurture, bond. Free parking, tea, cake & chat. Message for details Dream Time is a bit different from other massage classes.

Firstly, you can start whenever you like - providing there is a space, do a taster and then sign up for a 6 week course. Secondly, if you get to the end of your 6 weeks and aren’t ready to leave, you can sign up again - that’s your place for as long as you want it. The sessions involve singing, bubbles, a balloon, some yoga, soft gymnastics, a full massage each week, confidence building in terms of handling your baby, some very special bonding and lots of fun. If you wish to learn how to effectively and thoroughly massage your baby, release tension, relieve trapped wind and constipation and generally relax your baby and yourself, this is the class for you. In my classes I create a soothing environment which is designed to reduce cortisol in both baby and parent/carer. Babies usually sleep for a few hours afterwards and their adults leave feeling relaxed and that it’s been time well spent focusing on their baby. Of course, you can then take what you have learned and have a go at home. The cost is £8 for a taster and £60 for a 6 week course. This includes a special Dream Time blend of massage oil (grapeseed carrier), tea and cake afterwards as well as enabling me to offer this beautiful experience in Denby Dale Cricket Club Pavilion, and the Silk School of Dance in Honley, where I create a soothing environment for you to enjoy. Both venues have free parking. Parents/carers usually stay and relax for half an hour afterwards which is a lovely time to chat and make friends. You can start from when your baby is 4 weeks old and keep going until you or your baby have outgrown the class, which is most usually around the 6 - 7 months mark, but all babies are different. Dream Time teachers are all former Dream Time mums, Level 3 qualified and I have also trained with internationally renowned baby massage and movement expert, Peter Walker and am one of his Developmental Baby Massage certified teachers. I have a particular expertise in helping babies with trapped wind and constipation. If you're interested and would like to experience Dream Time, book in for a taster by messaging me through my fb page, on Instagram or email me at sooz.news@googlemail.com

Classes are very popular at both venues and booking is essential. Why Did I Join Dream Time? When I had my daughter 16 years ago I was in shock. I had moved to a new area, was sick every day of my pregnancy and had a traumatic birth. I felt isolated and overwhelmed - and I had a tiny baby and post natal depression! Maternity leave was not initially, the joyful time I had envisaged. Then I discovered Dream Time Baby Massage - and it was wonderful! I felt soothed and nurtured as I took those first tentative steps into motherhood. I bonded with my baby physically and emotionally and saw her uncurl and begin to thrive, as I learned how to massage her and handle her confidently and we both healed. I loved it so much that I became a Dream Time teacher. That was over 9 years ago, I've welcomed nearly 2000 families to my classes and I am still as passionate about it today.

Our Story

Dream Time is a bit different from other massage classes. Firstly, you can start whenever you like - providing there is a space: do a taster and then sign up for a 6 week course. Secondly, if you get to the end of your 6 weeks and aren’t ready to leave, you can sign up again - that’s your place for as long as you want it. The sessions involve singing, bubbles, balls, balloon, some yoga, soft gymnastics, a full massage each week, confidence building in terms of handling your baby, some very special bonding and lots of fun. In my classes I create a soothing gently sensory environment which is designed to reduce cortisol in both baby and mum - or dad. Babies usually sleep for a few hours afterwards and parents leave feeling relaxed and that it’s been time well spent focusing on their baby. Of course, you can then take what you have learned and have a go at home. The cost is £8 for a taster and £60 for a 6 week course. This includes a special Dream Time blend of massage oil, home made cakes and tea afterwards as well as enabling me to offer this beautiful experience in the soothing surroundings of the Denby Dale Cricket Pavilion, and the Lauren Faye School of Dance in Meltham, where I create a calming sensory room for you to enjoy. Both venues have free parking. Mums usually stay and relax for half an hour afterwards which is a lovely time to chat and make friends. You can start from when your baby is 4 weeks old and keep going until you or your baby have outgrown the class. Dream Time teachers are all former Dream Time mums, Level 3 qualified and particular attention is paid to finding and creating the right environment in which parents can come and relax. I have also trained with internationally renowned baby massage and movement expert, Peter Walker and am one of his Developmental Baby Massage certified teachers. If you're interested and would like to give Dream Time a go, book in for a no obligation taster by messaging me through my fb page or emailing me at sooz.news@googlemail.com Classes are very popular at both venues and booking is essential. Why Did I Join Dream Time? When I had my daughter 10 years ago I was in shock. I had moved to a new area, was sick every day of my pregnancy and had a traumatic birth. I felt isolated and overwhelmed - and I had a tiny baby of under 5lbs and post natal depression! Maternity leave was not, initially, the joyful time I had envisaged. Then I discovered Dream Time Baby Massage with Sarah in Wakefield - and it was wonderful! I felt soothed and nurtured as I took those first tentative steps into motherhood. I bonded with my baby physically and emotionally and saw her uncurl and begin to thrive, as I learned how to massage her and handle her confidently, and we both healed and grew strong. I met other mums, laughed and sang and learned how to have fun with my baby. Discovering Dream Time was one of the best things I’ve ever done – seriously, and I am absolutely passionate about it. Having left teaching after over 20 years in the classroom, I was thrilled to be accepted by Dream Time Baby Massage as a trainee in 2015, and gained a Level 3 qualification in Dream Time Baby Massage and Movement. I am still excited to be able to offer the same benefits to other mums in and around Huddersfield as I experienced at Dream Time in Wakefield. In June 2019 I also trained with Peter Walker in London and became one of his Developmental Baby Massage certified teachers. So whether this is your first baby, or second or third… come along to Dream Time Huddersfield for a taster session and see what all the fuss is about. If you are interested, please message me for further details. Come and join the circle! Best wishes and congratulations on your new arrival, Susan Fothergill x
