Back on the islands after a busy few days of lecturing on the mainland - from WCH-Penzance, then University College London and finally UK Sports Institute, Bisham Abbey. What a fantastic and energising few days.

In the course of my work I often get asked about barefoot shoes. 10+ years ago, I collaborated on a study exploring this. Biomechanically, there is much to like about 'barefoot' but would caution that transitioning can take time, patience & 'rehab'/strengthening. In 2020 the use of RICE for acute soft tissue injuries was replaced with PEACE and LOVE
- the main change being avoidance of anti-inflammatories for 1-3 days (including ice) and progressive treatment guidance with LOVE from day 3
