Counselling isn’t about 'having something seriously wrong' with you. Sometimes it’s simply about having a safe, supportive space to pause, reflect and feel heard without judgement.

Therapy can help you:

🌿 manage stress, anxiety and overwhelm
🌿 process difficult experiences
🌿 build healthier coping strategies
🌿 improve confidence and relationships

Day 3 of Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply pause and sit with our feelings rather than push them away, judge them, or try to 'fix' them immediately.

This can feel uncomfortable at times, but learning to notice, name, and validate our emotions with compassion can help us feel more grounded, understood, and connected to ourselves.

Today’s reminder: check your battery level, you don’t have to be running on 100% all the time 💛

Whether you’re feeling great, just okay, struggling, or completely drained, your feelings are valid, and they deserve attention without judgment ❤️

This year’s MHAW'S theme focuses on taking action for mental health, reminding us that even small steps matter. Sometimes action looks like setting a boundary, asking for support, resting, drinking water, taking a breath, or simply being kinder to yourself 🧡

Take a moment tonight to ask yourself:

✨ What do I need right now?
✨ What would help me recharge, even a little?

You are allowed to slow down.
You are allowed to care for yourself too 💖

✨ Supervision Availability ✨

For those who don’t know, alongside my counselling work I am also a qualified counselling supervisor, offering 1-1 clinical supervision to both qualified and trainee counsellors 😊

I work predominantly from a person-centred base, integrating CBT, mindfulness and psychoeducation. I offer a warm, reflective and collaborative supervisory space that supports both professional development and emotional wellbeing.

I welcome supervisees from a wide range of backgrounds, including trainee counsellors, newly qualified counsellors, and private practitioners.

I currently have availability for new supervisees, so if you are looking for a supportive, ethical and encouraging supervisory relationship, please feel free to get in touch to see if we might be a good fit.

Supervision is available:

• In person (for those local to the Grimsby area)

• Online or by telephone (for those further afield)

I came across this poem 10 years ago and love it today as much as I did then ❤️

It captures beautifully what it can sometimes feel like to sit in the counselling chair for the first time, not knowing what to expect, holding so much inside, and wondering if it’s safe to share 💛

Sometimes it helps to pause and remind ourselves that we did the best we could with what we had today.
