🌸 Gardening Club in Full Bloom 🌸

What a glorious day to be out in the garden ☀️ Our Gardening Club at Hungerford Care Home made the most of the sunshine, spending time together planting beautiful flowers and enjoying the fresh air.

Nigel, Dolly, Susan, and Dorothy got well and truly stuck in, carefully planting flowers into pots that will soon brighten up the entrance for everyone to enjoy. There was lots of chatting, laughter, and teamwork along the way 🌼

Activities like this are a wonderful way to connect with nature, boost wellbeing, and create a sense of pride in our home. We can’t wait to see the flowers grow and welcome visitors with a splash of colour 🌺

April didn’t feel like one big moment across our homes, but lots of smaller ones and that’s what made it so special 💜

There were Easter crafts, feasts, time spent outside as the weather picked up, and plenty of conversations sparked along the way. We also took time to recognise Autism Acceptance Week and Parkinson’s Awareness Week, creating space to learn, reflect and support one another.

St George’s Day brought a bit of fun and familiarity too, with simple touches that made people smile 🏴

It’s these everyday moments that shape life in our homes, not just the celebrations, but the time spent together in between.

A big thank you, as always, to our teams for everything they do to make those moments happen

We were so pleased to welcome back Mark Roberts, the Singing Keeper, for a brilliant country and western afternoon at Hungerford Care Home 🤠

From the moment the music started, the whole room came to life. Our residents were singing along to their favourite classics, tapping their feet and sharing plenty of smiles. There is something about live music that really lifts the mood, and this was no exception 💜

It was lovely to see family and friends joining in too, with a few people up on their feet dancing alongside our residents. The laughter, the energy, the little moments of joy… it all made for such a special afternoon.

A big thank you to Mark for bringing so much happiness into our home once again. We are already looking forward to his next visit. Which song would get you up dancing?

We enjoyed such a lovely day out on our minibus trip to Camp Hopson and Newbury town centre 🛍️

Our residents had a relaxed wander through the shops, taking in the atmosphere and picking up a few little treats along the way. There was plenty of laughter, with lots to see and chat about as we made our way around together

Afterwards, we headed to Camp Hopson’s for lunch, where everyone sat down to enjoy some delicious food and good company. Veronica, Tony, Phyllis and Dolly all said how much they enjoyed having a look around the town and how lovely the meal was 🍽️

It was one of those days that felt easy and full of smiles, with a real sense of independence and togetherness. We are already looking forward to the next outing 💜

We had such an exciting visit to our home this week when Walks With Hawks joined us 💜

Kellie brought along three beautiful birds, a falcon and two adorable owls, and our residents were completely captivated from the moment they arrived. Watching them fly gently from person to person and land so calmly on our hands was something really special.

There were lots of questions, smiles and moments of amazement as Kellie shared her knowledge with us all. One of the owls even made the sweetest little purring sound which had everyone talking about it long after.

It was one of those days that felt a little bit magical and certainly one we will remember. Which bird would you have liked to meet? 🦉

We had such a lovely day at our gardening club at Hungerford Care Home 💜

Our wonderful residents, Phyliss, Janet, Susan, Dorothy, Dolly, Von and Anthony all got stuck in, filling pots with fresh compost, carefully separating the seedlings and giving them that extra space to grow. There was lots of focus, a few laughs and plenty of helping hands along the way.

It’s always special to see everyone working together like this, and even more rewarding knowing we’ll soon be watching our plants flourish thanks to their care 🌱

Phyllis has been having a fantastic time playing Giant Tetris with our lovely team member Meera 😊

There was lots of laughter as the game got going, with a bit of friendly competition and plenty of encouragement along the way. Phyllis showed great focus and determination, carefully working out where each piece should go, while Meera was right by her side cheering her on.

It was one of those moments that brought smiles all round, with such a lovely sense of teamwork and connection. We love seeing our residents enjoying themselves, trying something different and sharing these little wins together 💜

Have you ever had a go at Giant Tetris?

🌸 Garden Moments with Dorothy 🌸

On a peaceful afternoon in our garden, our lovely resident Dorothy spent some quiet time surrounded by nature, taking in the beauty of the blooming flowers and enjoying gentle moments of reflection. The garden was filled with colour and calm, creating the perfect setting for a truly meaningful experience 🌿💐

Gardening has always been a passion of Dorothy’s, and being outdoors brings her so much happiness. As she walked through the garden, she shared her knowledge by naming each flower, her face lighting up with joy as she paused to admire them. The sweet scent of daffodils in the air made the moment even more special 🌼

It was heartwarming to see her smile and reconnect with something she loves so deeply. Moments like these remind us how powerful nature can be in bringing comfort, happiness, and a sense of peace 🌷💟

Our home was filled with colour, creativity, and joyful energy as our amazing residents came together to design their very own Easter eggs. Surrounded by friends and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, the session became a wonderful celebration of togetherness and self expression, where every moment was shared with smiles and laughter 🌸

With paintbrushes in hand and imaginations flowing, residents embraced the opportunity to decorate their eggs in their own unique way. From soft pastel shades to bold and vibrant patterns, each creation reflected not only creativity but also personality, making every piece truly special and meaningful🎨

The room came alive with conversation, shared ideas, and lighthearted laughter as memories were made throughout the afternoon. It was more than just an arts and crafts session, it was a chance to connect, to express joy, and to celebrate the spirit of Easter in a way that brought everyone closer together🐣

We are so grateful to everyone who took part and helped make the afternoon so memorable. The pride and happiness seen in every finished creation was truly heartwarming, and we cannot wait to display these beautiful designs for all to admire 💟
