🌊 World Drowning Prevention Day | 25 July
Drowning is one of the leading causes of accidental death globally – and every life lost is one too many.
This week, on World Drowning Prevention Day, we’re recognising the importance of water safety – and the young people who are actively making a difference in keeping others safe on and around the water.
Whether they’ve led safety briefings, supported younger crew members, completed life-saving training, or simply shown a strong awareness of safety protocols – their contributions deserve to be celebrated.
The Water Safety category of the East Anglian Maritime Awards honours young people in Essex, Norfolk, and Suffolk who demonstrate care, responsibility, and leadership near the water – whether on rivers, lakes, or our beautiful coastline.
