This happened today. It has put me in a bit of a spin to be honest.

It is never okay for school leaders to make staff feel worthless and unhappy. In fact, it is one of their most important tasks - to make staff feel capable and supported. And it’s also important for governors to hold their heads to account and make sure their heads are kind, encouraging leaders.

Not everyone has had the opportunity I had to make my comeback bigger than my setback. It’s those people that I feel so cross for - excellent professionals who have walked away from careers they love. Absolutely not okay.

Needless to say, said headteacher didn’t ask me what I’d done since I’d left (she of course knows). I would’ve walked her through every single moment if she had 🤣

If you are having a rough ride at the moment, let my story remind you that one person’s judgement of you isn’t who you are or what you’re capable of… your massive comeback could be just around the corner x
