Charlotte is among the youngest members of St John Ambulance - our Badgers.

Charlotte loves being a Badger — from making new friends and learning first aid to trips, camps, and earning badges.

This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating girls like Charlotte who are learning, growing, and discovering the joy of helping others.

This International Women’s Day, we’re shining a light on the amazing women and girls of St John Ambulance.

Honey, one of our St John Ambulance Cadet Corporals, shares how learning first aid and CPR has helped her build confidence, leadership skills, and a passion for helping others.

Cold water swimming? 🏊‍♂️
Walking, fishing or running near waterways or lakes? 🎣

Here are some tips to help keep you safe:

⚠️Don't jump or dive in as the water can contain unseen hazards and be far deeper than it looks.
🚫Never swim near weirs or locks as there are often dangerous currents.
✅ If you're swimming, make sure someone on land knows where you are and when you're due to leave.

If you enter the water, remember, 'Float to Live' - an initiative from the RNLI on staying safe in the water. Watch the video here 👉https://youtu.be/XiN5hvoouMk?si=iudYkLJpS6ZRIiss

If you see somebody in difficulty in the water: call 999 immediately.

If you see somebody in the water:
❌ Don't enter the water
🛟 Find the nearest life ring or buoyancy device and throw it to the person.
🚑 If the person is out of the water, provide basic first aid, making sure to keep them warm.

First aid may involve:
🥶Monitoring for hypothermia.
🩱Removing cold, wet clothes.
🚑 Calling for an ambulance

✨ Huntingdonshire Youth: Our Year Wrapped ✨

What a year it’s been for our young people and volunteers 💚

Attending residentials, providing first aid at events and covering a wide range of topics including health and wellbeing, safety and communication.

From festive celebrations to high-energy events, our youth members have shown dedication, confidence and compassion every step of the way.

👏 A huge thank you to our young people, leaders, volunteers and supporters for making it all possible. We can’t wait to see what’s next.

💚 Here’s to another year of learning, growth and saving lives.
