Cold water swimming? 🏊♂️
Walking, fishing or running near waterways or lakes? 🎣
Here are some tips to help keep you safe:
⚠️Don't jump or dive in as the water can contain unseen hazards and be far deeper than it looks.
🚫Never swim near weirs or locks as there are often dangerous currents.
✅ If you're swimming, make sure someone on land knows where you are and when you're due to leave.

If you see somebody in difficulty in the water: call 999 immediately.
If you see somebody in the water:
❌ Don't enter the water
🛟 Find the nearest life ring or buoyancy device and throw it to the person.
🚑 If the person is out of the water, provide basic first aid, making sure to keep them warm.
First aid may involve:
🥶Monitoring for hypothermia.
🩱Removing cold, wet clothes.
🚑 Calling for an ambulance
