Most of us sometimes feel there’s a missing piece in our lives, but often we look at life the wrong way around. Consider your life as a jigsaw puzzle.
You can only see the full picture when it’s almost completed.
Without faith in the bigger picture, life can feel empty, and we constantly search for external pieces to try to make us feel whole. That fullness is temporary, and soon the emptiness returns, prompting another search for the next high or fix.
The new year often brings a desire to turn our lives around, yet that motivation can disappear quickly too.
Life is more like a puzzle. The picture isn’t clear yet, and it isn’t supposed to be. It takes time to figure out what goes where. Some pieces are tried and then discarded; others fit unexpectedly. Over time, the puzzle of life slowly comes together.
In times that are dark, lonely, or sad, as you try to find your next move or direction, it can help to keep your spirituality alive, to drink deeply from the waters of life and quench your spiritual thirst. In doing so, you develop a trust between yourself and the creator, a trust that even when life gets difficult, the light within your soul can never be extinguished.
When the final piece falls into place, the picture may not be what you expected. It might be dark, hard to look at, or unfamiliar—something you wouldn’t have naturally chosen for yourself. Or it might be beautiful in ways you never imagined. Not everyone gets an easy or fair life, but each life can help us if we choose to see it as a grand jigsaw puzzle. Only you and the creator hold the pieces to your life’s puzzle.
Hold your pieces close and let yourself be guided before placing them. In darker times, keep the light alive within. If life feels lonely, remember that you are never truly alone. Those who trust in the bigger picture and their part in it will eventually see how it all holds meaning.
