Today I spent some time working one-to-one with a student inside the shamanic practitioner training.

We were recapping working with the extraction animal and then met the soul retrieval animal, and it just reminded me again how this work really unfolds over time. It’s not something you rush or try to get right straight away.

It’s more about sitting in the journeys, getting to know how your allies work, noticing what you see and feel, and letting that build naturally.

There’s a point where something just clicks. Not because you’ve been told what it means, but because you’ve experienced it enough to trust it.

That’s the part I love. Watching that shift happen.

Beltane Fires and What Is Ready to Grow 🔥🌿

On this beautiful Beltane day, I’ve been holding space in a slightly different way.

This morning I guided a student through a personal shamanic healing as part of her certification training within the Elemental Priestess pathway. We were building on her understanding of extraction work, gently working with energies that no longer belong in the field and learning how to clear and reset them safely.

Afterwards, once everything had settled, I took a moment to tune into the energy of the day itself.

Beltane is one of the Celtic fire festivals, traditionally celebrated at the beginning of May. It marks the point in the year where the light has fully returned and the energy of growth is no longer hidden. You can see it in the land, in the blossom, in the way everything is beginning to open and move.

It feels very different to early spring. There is a sense of emergence and blooming above the ground.

I created a small altar to sit with that energy, and if you feel drawn, you are welcome to take a quiet moment to connect with it. Just soften your focus, notice what draws your attention, and ask yourself:

What is ready to grow and come into fuller expression through me now?

I am always fascinated by the unfurling spirals of the ferns at this time of year as slowly everything awakens and bursts into life. Hidden in the ferns I found a dragon log- can you see her?

I’m having quite a dragon week this week! My talk for the Dragon Thunder Summit was done today around the hidden layers and meaning of the story of the Bisterne Dragon. As one of the hosts, I have 4 recordings booked in to do with 4 lovely speakers from different parts of the world. I’m also completing my book chapter on the Black Guardian Dragon for submission and today I was walking in one of my favourite spots where the gorse is in the New Forest and I found this dragon stick. I’ve sanded it a little and oiled it, now to get creative with crystals and feathers. Can you see the dragon head in the stick?

I had a beautiful conversation yesterday with Fiona Robertson on her YouTube channel, exploring magic, manifestation, and what changes when we move out of effort and control and back into joy and curiosity.

It felt very aligned afterwards to pull a couple of cards from my Dragon Wisdom Codes deck, and the messages echoed that same energy, a reminder that things often begin to shift when we soften and allow.

There are moments on this path where nothing looks clear.
