On 1st October 2025, Maurice of Romiley, passed away peacefully aged 85 years. He will be deeply missed by all his loving family and many friends.  A service of committal will be held first at Stockport Crematorium (Rowan Chapel) on Tuesday 21st October at 2:30 pm. This will be followed by a Memorial Service at Woodley Methodist Church at 3:30 pm.

What a fantastic turnout in Hyde this morning to say goodbye to Ricky Hatton. You can say what you like about Hyde (and yes, it has it’s issues) but most importantly, Hyde has heart. We’ve lived here all our life and the community spirit here is absolutely the best in Tameside. And it was shown today with thousands of people lining the streets through his hometown, a fitting goodbye to Hyde’s most famous son.

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we pause to acknowledge the importance of caring for our minds and hearts — and for one another.

We understand that grief and mental health are deeply connected. The loss of someone we love can bring waves of emotion that are hard to put into words. It can affect our sleep, our focus, and our sense of self.

On 28th September 2025 Maureen passed away peacefully after a long illness aged 85 years. She will be sadly missed by all her loving family and friends. 
Maureen‘s service will be held at Dukinfield Crematorium on Thursday 16th October at 11am. Family Flowers only please but donations if desired can be made to Alzheimer’s Society and the Guide Dogs.

Sadly, Vicky‘s dad, my father-in-law passed away this week .

BRAMLEY BUCKLEY

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Bramley Buckley of Mottram , Hyde. Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on 28th of September 2025 aged 91 years. A loving Husband of Susan , Dearly loved Dad of Christopher, Louise and Vicky. A dear father-in-law of Jessie, Pravin and Aidan. Bramley was also a much loved Grandad and Brother. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Bramley’s service will be held at Albion Church, Ashton Under Lyne on Friday 17th October at 1:30 pm followed by committal at Dukinfield Crematorium at 2:30 pm. All are welcome to join us to celebrate Bramley‘s life and say our final goodbyes. Family flowers only but donations can be made if desired to kidney research.

Wayne Atkinson

Wayne, of Hyde sadly passed away on August 31st 2025, aged 52 years. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at Dukinfield Crematorium on Tuesday 23rd September at 12 noon. All are welcome.
