Martello Manor by Boutique Care Homes 💚 is pleased to be hosting the Hythe Care Forum, a community event bringing together local organisations, professionals and support services all in one place.
📅 Monday 14th April
⏰ 3:00pm – 5:00pm
📍 The Tin Tabernacle, Stade Street, Hythe CT21 6BD
This event is open to anyone who would like advice, guidance or support when planning care for themselves or a loved one. It is also a chance to meet the professionals and organisations who provide important services across our local community.
You will be able to speak directly with organisations offering support with:
• Care options
• Financial and legal advice
• Dementia support
• Community resources
• Veterans support
• Benefits and guidance

Most networking events follow the same pattern. A room full of people, a quick hello, and not much time to really talk.

We’re doing it differently in Hythe. Speed Networking. Short, focused conversations that give you the chance to meet everyone in the room properly, not just the person standing next to you. No long waits, no missed introductions, just real face to face time with local businesses. 🤝

There’s space at the end to stay, chat, and follow up with the people you clicked with. It’s relaxed, a bit more structured, and designed to make your time count. 💬

Jude popped into Hythe Sports & Social Club today and walked straight into a room full of music, chatter and people singing along 🎶

There was a singer keeping everyone entertained, and that easy, warm atmosphere Hythe always seems to have. It didn’t take long before conversations started and a few smiles were shared 💚

Jude was there to meet Jackie, who’s kindly made and donated three handmade sensory aids for our residents. You could tell straight away how much care had gone into them, the kind of things that invite people to pick them up, explore, and connect 💙

We’ll be making a donation to Friends of Hythe Dementia to say thank you, and Jackie’s already talking about starting a Knit and Natter group with us when we open. Something simple, but full of connection.

It feels like the start of something here in Hythe, and we’re really looking forward to being part of it 💚

Sometimes it’s just about having the right people in the room at the right time 💚

On Tuesday 14th April, we’re hosting an event and bringing together a wide mix of local organisations for the Hythe Care Forum, all in one place at the Tin Tabernacle Hythe. From care and dementia support to finances, safety, and wellbeing, it’s a chance to have real conversations without referrals, waiting lists, or appointments.

It’s a relaxed afternoon where you can ask questions, pick up information, or just talk things through with someone who understands. Whether you’re planning ahead or supporting someone right now, you’re very welcome to come along.

3:00pm to 5:00pm. No booking needed.

Wishing all of our residents, families, and team a very happy Easter 💚

However the day is being spent, we hope it’s filled with good company, small moments, and a bit of something sweet along the way 🌼

We couldn’t resist having a bit of fun with it too… imagining what each of our homes might look like as bunnies. It made us smile more than we expected 🐰

Marlene and Jude popped into The Shed today and walked straight into the middle of things. 🔨
A group were busy working on small wooden greenhouses, measuring, sanding, passing and fixing. When Marlene and Jude asked if they could put in a request for one for Care Home, the whole room lit up. A cheer went up straight away, big smiles all round. You could see how much it meant to have their work wanted. 🌱
We brought along a couple of Craft Hampers to donate, just a small way to support everything going on there. They were already deep into Easter bonnet making too, each one carefully put together and proudly shown off as we walked around. 💐
It’s one of those places where you can feel the energy as soon as you step in. We’re really lucky to be part of a community like this, and maybe next year those bonnets will make their way over to us at Martello Manor for an Easter Parade. 💚

We were trying to explain to our marketing team that it can be a little tricky to find Martello Manor… mainly because we’re not actually allowed any AA signs 👀

Inside, everything’s nearly ready. The home’s come together beautifully, the team’s in place, and July isn’t far off. It’s just the small matter of people being able to find us… 😄

That’s when they did some 'blue sky thinking' ideas started getting a bit more creative. If we can’t put signs on the road… maybe we think a little bigger. Or higher 🎈

It might not be the usual approach, but it’s definitely hard to miss. 💚

Speaking on April 1st 2026....👀....Admissions Manage Jude said "If you’d like directions, just give us a call… we’ll talk you in" 📞

After months of planning and building, the doors finally opened at Martello Manor this weekend for the opening of our Show Suites 💚

There was a moment that really stayed with us. On their last visit, the Mayor of Hythe, Cllr Stephen Bailey, and Dudley Shipton were up on the roof laying tiles. This time, they walked in, took a seat, and looked around properly, seeing the home as it’s meant to be lived in. That shift felt quite special.

Across the day, we welcomed so many familiar and new faces, people we’ve been getting to know over the past few months. There were conversations over coffee, questions, and a chance to share what everyday life here will feel like.

Branch Visit to Martello Manor – A Productive and Promising Day

Today the branch enjoyed a guided tour of Martello Manor, a boutique care home offering a warm and personalised environment for its residents. The visit wasn’t just insightful — it also opened the door to some exciting possibilities.

Alongside learning more about the home’s approach to care, we explored opportunities for future joint working, strengthening community connections and collaboration. Even better, Martello Manor expressed interest in coming on board as a Gold Sponsor for Armed Forces Day, a fantastic boost for the event and a great show of support for our local armed forces community.

A genuinely positive and forward‑looking day for everyone .
