I am a Person-Centred therapist, who believes that you know yourself best and have the ability to find the answer for yourself, but sometimes we get stuck and need a little help. Work together we will find ways to your overcome obstacles/barriers and improve your life by exploring your inner thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences, and having a better understanding of them. I provide a confidential, safe space where you can feel heard, understood and respected without feeling judged. A safe pair of hands, space to explore your concerns, issues, dilemmas, time for yourself, where you are important without having to worry about others. I will work with you at your pace, ensuring your autonomy throughout the time we have together to ensure you are happy with the outcome. As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), I work within set guidelines of a governing body that is an accredited member of the Professional Standards Authority. I undertake regular continuous professional development workshops and keep up to date with the latest research and developments in the counselling and psychotherapy sector.
I have worked in general counselling practices since 2015, working with clients from teens to retirement age. I have a wealth of experience in working with clients who have relationship issues, bereavement issues, attachment issues and those who are affected by anxiety, panic attacks, fear, anger, rage, depression, low self-esteem, low self-confidence and disability / health issues. I also work with clients who have experienced sexual and/or physical abuse, domestic violence and have experience using the “rewind” technique for people with post traumatic stress disorder. previously worked as a counsellor at The University of Leicester, and volunteered as a counsellor at Cruse bereavement care and Mosaic disability service for three years.
Starting counselling can be scary. By reading my profile, you have already taken the first steps; the next step is to contact me to book an appointment. I work on an individual basis offering both long and short term therapy, at a location near the city centre, my room is disability friendly on the ground floor and there is on street parking close by (at a small cost, unless you hold a blue badge). I also work in the LE4 area of Leicester. To arrange your first session please email, call or text. We can discuss your needs and arrange a suitable time to meet.
