Author of a look inside the therapy room and Self love, because you matter. Life's difficult at times, we can't always find the answers on our own. I can offer you a safe space to feel heard, understood, time just for you to explore your troubling thoughts, feelings & fears, gaining a better understanding of them & yourself. Hi I'm Chrissie and I am a person-centred therapist who believes that we all have the ability to find the answer for ourselves, but sometimes we get stuck and need help. Working together we can find ways to overcome your obstacles and improve your life by exploring your inner thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences, and learning how to have a better understanding of them. I will work with you at your pace, ensuring your autonomy throughout the time we have together to ensure you are happy with the outcome . As a Accredited Professional member of the National counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), I work within set guidelines of a governing body that is an accredited member of the Professional Standards Authority. I undertake regular continuous professional development workshops and keep up to date with the latest research and developments in the counselling and psychotherapy sector. I have been working as a therapist since 2015, working with adults from late teens to retirement age. I have experience in working with clients who have relationship issues, bereavement issues, attachment issues and those who are affected by anxiety, panic attacks, fear, anger, rage, depression, low self-esteem, low self-confidence and disability / health issues. I also work with clients who have experienced sexual and/or physical abuse, domestic violence and I have experience in using the “rewind” technique for people with traumatic memories. Living with a physical disability myself and the challenges that brings, working with others that live with disabilities is something that is close to my heart. Supporting others struggling with discrimination at work, anxiety and depression, isolation and socialising difficulties, health concerns to name a few.

I have previously worked as a counsellor at The University of Leicester, and volunteered as a counsellor at Cruse bereavement care and Mosaic disability service for three years.

Starting therapy can be scary. By reading my page you have already taken the first steps; when you feel ready please contact me and we can arrange to meet, discuss your needs. I work on an individual basis, face to face in Ibstock and online using my secure therapy room. We can work together either short term (up to 12 sessions) concentrating on the issue concerning you, helping you find solutions, or long term (unlimited) working on what has created your thoughts and feelings that are now causing you distress, then changing them to create a healthy relationship with yourself and others, leading to a happier, fuller life. I had an amazing time giving my self-love talk at the Ibstock Palace Community Centre ltd outlook group. It was another opportunity to share my story and experiences. I offered some tips and advice on how to maintain positive mental health and prioritise self-care. Feeling grateful for the chance to connect with others on such an important topic. 💕
