This is where yoga steps in, and once you feel yourself slowing down and noticing the shift in gear, your nervous system feels soothed and nourished and you just want to keep coming back for more. ♥️🙏

One of my yogis walked Hadrian's Wall last week and I asked her to take a photo of her in tree pose, a balancing posture, at the famous sycamore gap site. The Sycamore Gap tree, which appeared in 1991 Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, was a 100-120 year old tree in Northumberland. It was illegally felled in 2023. It was one of the country's most photographed trees and an emblem for the North East of England. Many hearts were heavy the day it was felled. Lara is smiling because it is sprouting new growth and let's hope in another 100 years time, it will regrow to look just as majestic. Thank you Lara for sending me the photo, you can't stop the force of Nature, lets hope it continues to sprout. 💚

Yesterday whilst in class, I suddenly realised that I qualified as a yoga teacher in March 2006, so this is my 20th year of teaching! I taught for 2 years previous to this, to build experience and confidence, so officially I've been teaching for 22 years!! I looked around the class yesterday and 3 of the yogis in the Friday morning class, I have been teaching for 20 years, they can remember their first class with me! Pat Shephard, Clarissa Laker, and Georgina Walker, you can still move the way you moved 20 years ago, and I shall keep you moving. 😘 I then travelled to see my yogis who I have been teaching privately for 11 years. I had a cuddle with Princess Luna dog, I could seriously hold her all day, but the real highlight was learning that I share my birthday with Pebble, a Russian Blue, who turned 17 years old today, so in cat years, she's much older than me. ❤️

The beauty of yoga is that it's a lifetime practise which I hope to be able to continue for as long as I can. To me, yoga is life, and if you incorporate it into your life, it helps you to navigate the way through more peacefully, with an open heart and a greater appreciation of the simple things in life, that really do matter the most. 🙏

I rounded off my quiet week off with a day with my family. Here is my big sister, Emma Bl who is my absolute rock.

I've had a mini retreat here in Newton Burgoland this week which I've loved, and I'm now ready to be back on my mat with you all, and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone this week. 🙏♥️

Happy Easter to all my yogis and fellow rescuers. 🐣🐇

If you are in need of a heart warming moment, watch this. Lilly is a rescue bunny, she's always been a nervous rabbit and would only relax around Harry, they were deeply bonded. Since we lost Harry last November she became even more nervous and withdrawn. I've had a big break through recently, she is now very happy for me to hold her, smother her with kisses, and if you watch carefully, you'll see her lick my finger. That's a rabbit's way of showing they feel safe, and their way of showing affection. ❤️🐰

My class today, brought a group of ladies together who all went to the Ashby Grammar School. I love familiarity, and seeing familiar faces that I have known all these years feels good. We shared a beautiful class, about looking for the glimmers in life and not the triggers, things that bring a sense of safety, joy, hope, gratitude, they are always there beneath any cloud. Having these 3 in class today, brought back memories of school, and luckily for me, that's a glimmer. ♥️

💚 Today's Spring Yoga Workshop💚

I love this time of year, the whole spirit and energy of the natural world is awakening, Mother Earth is awakening, everywhere you look, it is showing signs of new life, new growth. You can almost feel something tingling in the air, sunlight starts to linger, the bird song is more apparent, the odd bumble bee and butterfly starts to appear, and the whole world outside is starting to feel more inviting.

My seasonal workshops inspire people to sync their own lives with the energy of each season, to live more in harmony with the seasons, and to embrace and reflect on their own connection to Nature. Each season is rich and full of unique gifts and when we have more awareness of these unique gifts and nature's rhythms, it helps to optimise our sense of wellbeing throughout the year, whatever the weather!

This morning's Spring Yoga Workshop encouraged everyone to feel the surge of energy that Springtime brings, new life, new growth, new beginnings. The yoga sequences focussed on awakening, invigorating, enlivening our energy to rid ourselves of any sluggishness following the cold, dark days of Winter. The style of the practice instilled a feeling of strength and hope, with opening expansive postures, to refresh and revitalise, as Springtime can be seen as a rebirth of our own sense of spirit.

The guided meditation and visualisation allowed everyone to feel a deeper connection with Mother Nature, something that is sadly fading due to our urban lifestyles. The meditation practise, we set our intentions for Spring, recognising that this is a season of growth and new beginnings and the visualisation gave everyone an experience of a deep connection with the natural world, allowing them to feel part of Mother Nature, and how it can feel like home. Nature is not always a place to visit, it is still our home.

Everyone looked and felt so at ease following the practise. We unsubscribed from the chaos of the world, and for two hours we filled our hearts with the gifts of Spring, new light, new life, and new beginnings. With a feeling of hope in our hearts, we left feeling refreshed and revitalised.

Thank you everyone, I loved sharing this with you today. ♥️ See you at the Summer Solstice. 😊

I love Spring time and today marks the beginning of Spring. The Spring Equinox is a sacred moment of balance, when day and night stand equal across the Earth. The light begins to rise, bringing warmth, renewal, and new life. Nature awakens from its slumber, and we are invited to awaken with it. This is a time to set intentions, plant your seeds, and align with your true path. Release what no longer serves you and welcome the returning light with an open heart.

As the Earth awakens, so can you.
A new cycle is beginning. 🌿✨

Love this list. For me, this year, it's No 6 & 7. I'm going to create a wildlife garden. Try and tick a couple of these on this list if you can, your nervous system will thank you for it. ♥️

I am excited to let you know that the date has been set for the Spring Yoga Workshop, I really hope you are able to join me. 🌱

My seasonal workshops encourage you to embody the qualities of each season, and with Spring fast approaching, the longer and lighter days can bring so much optimism, as Mother Nature is shrugging off her Winter coat and starting to burst forth with new growth and vitality. This Spring workshop will help you to embrace the rising energy of Spring, it is such a refreshing time of year and full of hope. The practices will energise you, giving you a ’Spring clean,’ so that you feel more awake, more alive, and have more of a spring in your step.

The workshop will begin with slow, gentle yoga postures which will help to cleanse and detoxify, moving into more open energising postures to encourage growth and renewal. A meditation practice will be held to honour the Spring Equinox, and you will set your intention for the coming season, as it is a powerful time of year to plant new seeds of intention in your mind and heart. The workshop will be completed with a deeply relaxing and inspiring visualisation to fill your heart with with the joys of Spring. Breathing practices, Ayurvedic wisdom, yoga philosophy and soulful music will be shared throughout, to inspire and feed your soul.
