Job Brief: Male Support Worker (Long Days & Nights) – Loughton, Essex
We are seeking a dedicated Male Support Worker to provide high-quality care and support to an adult male with complex needs and a brain injury based in Loughton, Essex. This role involves working long days and nights on a rota basis, offering one-to-one support to promote the individual's well-being, independence, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personal care, daily living support, and emotional reassurance.
Assist with medication management and follow care plans effectively.
Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour using a person-centred approach.
Support with exercise regime and meaningful activities.
Maintain accurate daily records and work closely with healthcare professionals.
Ensure a safe and positive environment, respecting the individual's dignity and preferences.
Requirements:
Previous care experience in a similar role (supporting individuals with brain injuries and complex needs preferred).
Strong skills in managing challenging behaviour and implementing de-escalation techniques.
Understanding of safeguarding, mental capacity, and positive behaviour support (PBS).
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Right to work in the UK and ability to commit to long shifts.
