October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💕

Have you or your mum been invited to your breast screening yet?

Early screening can save lives!

It involves a simple a scan for women aged 50-70 to check your breasts and see if they can spot a lump or early signs of cancer which cannot yet be felt.

Early treatment can then be started which which can be life-saving.

Time to talk about poo 💩

Did you know that there is a quick test that can check for tiny amounts of blood in poo, which could be a sign of bowel cancer?

Everyone from the age of 60 is invited through post to send a sample of poo to check for this - read more in the post above👆🏼

If the test is positive, it allows further investigations to be done to find early cancers which can then be treated.

Have you been for your smear test?

If you are aged 25 or over and the answer is no, read this on why going to your cervical screening, also known as a smear test, is so important.

Screening checks the cells of the cervix for high risk types of a virus called Human Papillomovirus (HPV) that can cause cancer. If this is found, it can be treated before becoming cancer.
