The Last Hooraahhh!!

Over the years, SLR Fitness has taken on the mud with clients, followers, and everyday people who just wanted to be part of a team.

This was a motivational push from me to those to believe in themselves, face their fears, fight through the pain and adversity, and prove to themselves they can do anything they set their mind too.

As we are about to embark on our last SLR Fitness group Tough Mudder I want to say to everyone over the past ten years + and current group doing it this year "I'M PROUD OF YOU"

Everyone that crossed that line whither you were fit or not, had a injury, had a disability or any other reason to not complete it always remember you did that s**t and you remembered who the f*** you was.

That with heart, hard work, and grit, anything is possible and hopefully from that experience you have taken that into your training and everyday lifestyle.

Mandy was out of form, bad habits had krept in, she needed accountability to stay on track before totally spiralling and the important part of looking your best and more toned in the bridesmaid dress.

It has been a pleasure over these past 14 years to work with so many amazing women who have trusted me to assist them on their fitness journey.

Hardest part is always starting and keeping consistent. This needs a lot of self motivation and determination I can say all those I've worked with have shown that in abundance!

Today marks the 3rd anniversary of my tumour diagnosis ๐Ÿฅ

Mad to think a girl I was chatting to at the time thought I was just going to the hospital trying to dodge Valentineโ€™s Day when I told her lol!

Life comes at you fast, right?

The last 2.5 years have been a bit of a roller coaster (those that know thankyou for your support) continuous hospital visits, pulmonary embolisms on my lungs, inconclusive results, stress and anxiety of outcomes if I have the BIG C, bad docter advice and not being able to train properly. My mental physical health took a massive hit and I lost motivation to do the things I love. I even stepped back from clients, friends, family and kept myself to myself for a while as many of you noticed I wasn't posting as much.

But bit by bit, since getting the ALL CLEAR I've started to rebuild. Nothing fancy, just small steps every day. Spoke with some key individuals who have kept my spirits up (you lot know who you are ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ) when for the 1st time ever in 13years i considered to quit. Some days were easier than others, but I kept it moving.

Now Iโ€™m in a much better place. Off medication, back into training. Not perfect, but way stronger mentally and physically then I was.

This is not a pity or sympathy post but just to make it clear we are all human, as PTs /Fitness professionals we all have our ups and downs just like you but it's how you come back, start up again which will build your character and most importantly preserve your health

I will properly talk about this in a video at some point as this post is getting long so I'll leave with this. Youโ€™ve only got one body, so treat it right. Misconception is you have to be unhealthy or unfit for things to spin round 180 real fast, WRONG. Serious health conditions can happen to anyone so start by getting regular check ups, especially the men reading this and get moving more, eat more balanced, stress less, get in the gym more, whither your fit or not.

Well, if the shoe fits, it should do! This has to be up there as one of the no.1 excuses most people use to not to look after themselves.

Although some mitigating circumstances may be valid, if we are being really honest, for the most part it's laziness, poor time planning or not willing to come out your comfort zone!

Health is the one thing once on the decline can be very hard to reverse, if at all. If continuous bad habits don't change then it will be a repetative
' knock knock' on the docs door every couple of weeks.

If you have time to scroll Instagram, watch Netflixs or your favorite TV series then you have time to do some form of physical activity or plan too.

It's 2025 be intentional about the wellbeing of you before it's too late! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฅ—โ›น๏ธ๐Ÿ‹๏ธ
