Peter is much loved character in our home. 💙 Known for his sharp wit and dry sense of humour, he is quick to share a laugh or smile! Before coming to live with us, Peter was a civil engineer and worked all over the world. For a time, he was even an honorary member of our maintenance team!

We recently celebrated Valentine's Day with our much-loved vintage sweet cart! Throughout the day, family members were encouraged to visit the cart, fill their own paper bags and enjoy a little something sweet. There was also dancing, singing and Valentine's themed cupcakes and cookies. ❤🥰

Edenmore Nursing Home in North Devon marked Valentine’s Day with its much-loved vintage sweet shop cart. The traditional cart, a familiar feature within the home, was redressed for the occasion with red love hearts, striped paper bags, and jars filled with classic pick-and-mix favourites.

Comfort can come in all shapes and forms. For Pam, her soft toys can help her feel reassured and safe, while she stays busy with some colouring in or matching up shapes on a wooden shape sorting board. Sensory activities like these can support focus and coordination, offering gentle stimulation while creating a sense of familiarity and calm. 💛

There are lots of different ways to stay busy here at home. Whether it’s picking up a hobby you’ve always enjoyed, like knitting or painting, getting active with a game of ring toss, or having a little tinker with some tools.

Some of our family members also choose to help out around the home. A bit of sweeping, a spot of tidying - simple things that can bring a real sense of belonging and purpose.

It’s about keeping hands moving, minds engaged, and doing the everyday familiar things that make you feel like you.

There was a spontaneous cake fight in the lounge recently! Irene definitely came off worse – maybe she underestimated her opponent, Harry’s cheeky streak… 🍰

There was icing on noses and plenty of laughter. It’s little moments like this that remind us life doesn’t always need to be taken so seriously. Sometimes you just go with it, have a proper giggle, and worry about the clean-up afterwards.
