How’s your proprioception? Our actual sixth sense, proprioception (and its internal twin, interoception) helps us process our physical world and contributes to things like balance and coordination.

When we’re little and learn to roll and to crawl and to walk, we build an internal map of our bodies and how to move them. As we grow and move through life, these maps become out of date - a twisted ankle here, a little bit of scar tissue there and those little proprioceptor nerves are in a slightly different place.

Mindful and varied movement helps us refine and update these internal maps, making it easier for us to balance, and to catch ourselves when we do find ourselves a little off centre 🗺️

Want to come and give yoga a go? You can find me in the stunning Space at in Lynmouth Thursday mornings 9-10am and Saturday mornings 10-11am, book via their website ✨

Just over here balancing on rocks and gazing out to sea…

I love North Devon, and particularly Lee. So I’m very happy to have the opportunity to share some yoga practice with you all here in the village this Spring while the lovely is off adventuring in New Zealand.

Join me Tuesdays 9-10am or 6-7pm at the Memorial Hall from 12th March - 16th April (no classes on 2nd April as it will be the Easter holidays).

Just bring yourself, some comfy clothes, a mat and any other props you like to use (I have a few spares if you don’t have a mat and need to borrow one).

£10 walk in or you can book in for weekly classes in March or April at a discounted rate - drop me a message with any questions and to book your space.

And in the meantime, you can also find me covering for the wonderful community classes at Berrynarbor Manor Hall 9.30-10.30am this Friday and next (1st and 8th March) and filling in for the equally wonderful at over the coming week if you’re lucky enough to be a member or staying at the hotel.

Hope to see some of your lovely faces soon 💙

Well that was a bit special. So much gratitude for today’s beautiful morning practice as part of ‘s Autumn Retreat.

We moved, breathed, grounded and unfurled, and welcomed laughter, strength, lightness, and wobbly legs in equal measure.

Thank you so much to hostess with the mostess Claire for all the incredible care and attention that went into creating this retreat, and for inviting me to be a small part of it.

And to everyone who joined us, it was a pleasure to meet you all, and hope you have an amazing time cacao sipping, coast walking, feasting, and exploring breathwork, meditation and reflection in the capable hands of Claire and Neil this afternoon 🧡 🍂

Feeling that sea, sun, and unwind vibe? ☀️ 🌊

Last few spaces to join me for a two hear deep dive into a seasonal yin yoga practice to rest, restore, reflect, and replenish as we approach midsummer. Think blankets, bolsters, and coming back to our bodies and our breath.

This photo was from our last session in September - can’t wait to get back to sharing the joy tomorrow morning 🧡

There’s something extra special about practicing yoga outdoors - feeling the sunlight and the breeze on our skin, hearing the bird song and insect buzz, maybe even spotting a four leaf clover amongst the grass at the edge of our mats…

Our first Park Yoga session of the new season will take place at Ilfracombe Football Ground this Sunday 7th May 9am-10am. As ever, it’s free to take part, although donations are welcome via the Park Yoga website. No booking required, just bring yourself and a mat or towel/blanket, everybody welcome.

Expect a gentle, playful flow; a chance to breathe, move, pause, and feel into your body as we unfurl into spring and summer.

Come join us 🌱 ☀️

Kymata Yoga

Κυματα [gr] (kee-ma-ta). Waves.

The ups and downs, the ebb and flow of our bodies, our minds, our souls and of the world around us.

Like waves we are always changing, sometimes as subtly as a ripple and sometimes with the force of a tidal wave; through breath, movement and stillness, yoga can guide us to a better understanding of ourselves and what we need in each moment to find balance and strength within.

Approaching our practice with a loving kindness for ourselves, and for the environment and communities of which we are a part, allows us to find and embrace deeper connections in our lives.
