🌍 Happy Earth Day! 🌿

Here at Seaview Haven, we’re proud to do our bit to help care for our planet 💚

We recycle as much as we can, with clearly labelled bins on every floor so our staff, visitors, and residents can all play their part. We also encourage simple everyday actions like switching off lights when they’re not in use, reducing waste where possible, and being mindful of energy and water use throughout the home.

One of our favourite ways to celebrate sustainability is through creative activities ♻️✨ Using recycled materials for crafts not only helps reduce waste, but also brings so much joy to our residents. It’s a wonderful way to get creative, stay engaged, and do something positive for the environment at the same time.

Some of our residents gathered on the Mortehoe floor earlier today to watch the Spitfires fly overhead ✈️

They absolutely loved listening for that iconic sound and seeing them pass by — such a special moment for everyone. It was a real treat!

We’re also incredibly lucky to have such a fantastic view from the top floor, making experiences like this even more memorable 💙

One of our wonderful carers on the Lynmouth floor has been busy pampering our lovely residents 💅

Taking the time to sit, chat, and share a little bit of self-care has brought so many smiles. From beautifully painted nails to moments of laughter and connection, it’s these small but meaningful gestures that truly brighten someone’s day.

It’s the little things like this that make such a big difference to our residents’ self-esteem and provide a real confidence boost. Feeling cared for, valued, and listened to can have such a positive impact on wellbeing, and it’s something we always strive to create every single day.

Thank you to our carers for taking the time to care so thoughtfully for our residents and for always showing such kindness, compassion, and dedication. Your efforts never go unnoticed, and you make a real difference to the lives of those around you 💖

A huge congratulations to our wonderful Eleri, who has been voted Employee of the Month! 👏

Eleri was nominated by one of our visiting Occupational Therapists, who praised her excellent knowledge of our residents, as well as her moving and handling skills. We couldn’t agree more!

We are incredibly proud of Eleri and her continued hard work and dedication. Feedback like this from families, residents, and visiting professionals truly highlights how much our team cares. 💙

Our adorable ducklings have officially flown the nest (well… waddled! 🦆💛) and left Seaview Haven… BUT the lovely news is they’ve been rehomed locally! How amazing is that?! We’ll be keeping everything crossed for a few cheeky return visits! 👀✨

It’s safe to say our residents (and staff!) have absolutely LOVED having them here. From sweet little cuddles to watching their tiny waddles, they’ve brought so much laughter, comfort, and joy — truly a wonderful therapeutic experience for everyone 💛

A HUGE thank you to everyone who got involved in the raffle — your support helps create these special, feel-good moments for our residents, and they really do mean the world 🥰

Well, what a busy day we’ve had! 🐥
We now have 5 little ducklings! They’ve been busy getting to know the residents, giving lots of cuddles, and even enjoying a splash in the paddling pool.
They’ve grown so much over the last few days and are already starting to show their own little personalities 🥺
Our residents absolutely love them — it’s been so lovely hearing them reminisce about the pets they had growing up, along with some very funny animal encounters! 💛

Now it’s time for a little rest while he dries off in the incubator for a few hours… then he’ll be moving into it's new home 😁🏡

What an amazing first day it’s been for us! 🐣 We’re so excited to share that three adorable ducklings have hatched!

They’re currently snuggled up together under the brooder, having a well-earned rest after their big arrival. We can’t wait to bring them out later for some gentle cuddles 💛

🐣 We still have three more eggs waiting to hatch so watch this space! 🐣

They’ve been happily chirping away, and a few of our residents have already come to say hello! If you’re visiting us soon, be sure to stop by and take a peek… you might even be lucky enough to enjoy a little cuddle! 🦆✨

🥚🐣 Our duck eggs have arrived… and we couldn’t be more egg-cited! 🐣🥚

They’re all snuggled up in their cosy incubator while we patiently wait for the magic to happen. One little duckling is already getting ready to make its big entrance — we can see it moving and even hear tiny chirps! 💛

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our raffle — we truly appreciate it. We’ll be sharing all the adorable updates and moments between our residents and the ducklings over the next 10 days, so keep an eye on our page! 🦆✨
