🇬🇧 Happy VE Day from Canal Vue Care Home 🇬🇧

Today we pause with pride, gratitude and reflection as we mark Victory in Europe Day — a day that honours the courage, sacrifice and resilience of all who served during the Second World War.

At Canal Vue, this day holds special meaning as we continue our journey toward becoming a Veteran Friendly Care Home. We are committed to creating a home where veterans, serving personnel and their families feel recognised, supported and truly valued.

Our residents have been sharing memories, stories and reflections today — moments of bravery, community spirit and hope that remind us why VE Day remains so important.

To all veterans, past and present: thank you. Your service shaped the freedoms we enjoy today, and we are proud to celebrate you.

We had a very special visitor at Canal Vue today… Mazie our wonderful therapy dog 🐾💛

We absolutely couldn’t get enough of her cuddles, smiles, and calming presence – she truly brightened everyone’s day!

Today at Canal Vue, we celebrated Cinco de Mayo in true style with a day full of fun, laughter, and culture! 🌮🎉

Our residents enjoyed watching a fascinating documentary, putting their knowledge to the test with quizzes, and sharing plenty of laughs during a lively game of hangman. The celebrations continued with refreshing sangria and margaritas, followed by baking our very own delicious Tres Leches cake from scratch.
