Pain, Injury and Quality of Life.
Pain is messy and so are people! We have pain and injury and want to find that one answer, that magic fix. Well meaning friends, family, Dave down the road all seem to have that special answer, that special exercise…but it’s not worked for you.
We know there are so many contributing factors to pain and injury, more than one factor to address and more than one way to get better. Factors that you may already know about, such as general health to those you may not, such as psychological, behavioural, lifestyle and social.
The image (or metamodel!) you see here is complex, that’s for sure! It isn’t just for the sake of it but to have an awareness and appreciation of the connected human factors that contribute to pain, injury and quality of life. Often, injury does not exist in isolation, we are human, we are messy, and these factors compound each other. Yes of course you may feel better for a short time, from a massage, a click, a crack or zap but that’s just it, without taking into account the myriad of factors influencing pain, injury and quality of life, it is highly unlikely you can really, truly, get better and get back to what you love doing for the long term.
Whether its Osteoarthritis, low back pain, other muscle and joint pain and injury, something you’re worried about or something that you just can’t shift, there are ways to get better and there are ways to get back to what you love doing.
