Let me tell you my story.

Through a sequence of strange events I find myself celebrating my 75th birthday, entered to run the London Marathon 2021 on behalf of the Carers Trust.

This has come as quite a shock as it was most definitely not planned.

The question arises of how to minimise the risk of damaging myself and how to get the best performance out of this wonderful old body of mine?

How can I train my mind and body to achieve my optimal condition and create the stamina I'm going to need. To stand a chance of reaching my goal I must balance my mind and body to the best of my ability.

Now I would be a fool to do this if I had not thoroughly checked myself out, to make certain that I come to no harm with the best thorough screening system that I know of.

As a leading practitioner of evidence based anti-ageing techniques, I have developed a unique screening platform. We record up to 50 measures (using medical grade testing equipment) into the cloud-based system and it instantly delivers a potentially life-changing report. A quick glance and we see which of the vital signs are outside the optimum with advice of how to correct shortcomings.

So many people I know, for many different reasons have unexpectedly ended up as full-time carers.

It is frightening and can happen to any one of us.

One of my friends came back from Los Angeles for a short while to look after her mother who had suffered a stroke. Then her father's health failed and she was trapped, 24/7 for the next 7 years. Sadly she died before both her parents with breast cancer.

Some insight from Dr John Ogden

Back in 1969 when I was in Japan, I was totally fascinated by the steam bath centres, the girls massaged your feet, studied and observed your face, ears and hands to totally diagnose and treat you. This was an amazing tune-up.

Oriental medicine is all about balance and what those girls observed was any disharmony and they could correct the imbalance before it became a real problem.
This made so much sense.

When I returned to the UK I had an accident and needed hospitalisation and the specific problem was miraculously mended by surgery. However I had to learn how to rebalance the body after the trauma of surgery.

To look for the cause or causes became a total fascination and my hobby ever since.
Studying Oriental medicine, philosophy and acupuncture where everything is connected created the common sense medicine I have been applying in my clinic on Harley St for the last 21 years.

By measuring all the vital signs and then joining them together I form a picture of where the symptoms arise, which becomes self-evident and simpler to treat.

Left untreated, as the imbalance progresses so it can lead to certain diseases that should be monitored. For example you have to go through pre-diabetes to get to stage two diabetes. This can apply with many diseases from cardiovascular disease, kidney, respiratory diseases through to mental health.

Our founder Dr John Ogden has decided, after a year spent at his desk, that he's going to "treat himself" for his 75th birthday and run the London Marathon.

Using the "Your Future Vitality" screening platform, he's screened himself to make sure there are no underlying concerns with his health and he'll be running to raise money for all the carers the UK!

If you'd like to make sure you're fit enough to run a marathon, or just fit enough to take some gentle exercise, you might think of taking a screening before you do! It applies to young and old!
