Yoga changed my life. I have spent the last twenty years working in post conflict and countries in transition, helping with democratisation and observing elections around the world. The years in hostile environments started to take their toll as I was diagnosed with suffering from anxiety and PTDS, as well as spinal degeneration from years of wearing heaving body armour combined with arthritis in my back and neck.
To ease the pain the doctor recommended I took yoga classes to strengthen the muscles in my back thus stopping the pain and thus slowing down the denegation of my spine. Therefore I started daily meditation and a yoga routine several years ago. Finding that this relieved not only my physically ailments but my mental ones as well and I started to feel a new sense of physically and mental wellbeing that I had not felt for years. Yoga practice taught me the art of balance and not only did my physical body became stronger, more flexible and reduced pain but my mental health and whole perspective significantly changed.
This led me to want to help others so I become a qualified yoga instructor (200 hr YTT) and a qualified master naturalist (Clemson University , South Carolina). I now combine my love of nature with my love of yoga and relaxation techniques, such a meditation. I combine my teaching experiences as a qualified (YMCA) aerobics, step , aqua and gym instructor with my new teaching of yoga and meditation.
I am qualified in Trauma management, first aid and specialise in helping women sufferings from anxiety and stress, through a wide range of techniques.
